I always think cords are so 60s, and quite unflattering. Image of a sixties girl model with them on and a cord peak cap lounging against a Mini parked outside some stately home.

Just my opinion :)

I got some community clothing jeans, they're too long but I knew that. I think I like them, I'm not sure. My 7 year old says they make me look too grown up

Does that mean they look like mum jeans?

Aren't the women's jeans a fairly slim cut? You may have to post pics.

They're fairly slim, I don't know if I should've gone for an 8, they say take your normal size, I'm a 10. But I'm a short 10...

I haven't got a full length mirror to take a pic, may try later standing on a chair.

Another vote for Corduroy here. The name is a derivation of ' ''cord du roi' ie 'cloth of kings' .
Have some lovely M&S Blue Harbour black cords and some Lois l boot cut black cords. Both splendid trousers

Speaking of corduroy, I coincidentally found a black cord Feraud jacket in the chazzer yesterday. Think I'll get some good wear out of it come spring.

(I had ambitions not to buy any clothes this year, an ambition I've so far failed dismally to achieve. So much so that I've not mentioned a few purchases to mrs b, and have hidden them in the wardrobe. )

I made similar plans, and proudly mentioned my success so far, at work yesterday. Where they promptly reminded me that I bought two jumpers last week.

Which i’d forgotten because I bought them in Sainsbury’s. Which obviously doesn’t count.

Also I’ve spent a ton on perfume. Displaced spending.

How do you get on with black corduroy? I can't wear it due to cat and dog hair but I think even if I didn't have cats and a dog I'd still manage to pick up loads of random fluff. It always looks good on other people but I wonder if they keep a felt roller in their handbag :hmm:
Edit, just seen your post Fedayn. How do keep them black and fluffless?

I also got this.

I bought it for a seaside wedding in the summer. It was only £15 and I was worried about it looking cheap. It doesn't really and has lovely silver threading in the stripes.

The wrap over on the cleavage is a bit dodgy and I might need to do some creative pinning, but with the right accessories I think it will work. And as it only cost £15, I have more to spend on them anyway.

I've a pair of black cord wide leg jeans...bought because I loved them...And had forgotten how everything sticks to cord.
I ended up washing them on their own and giving them 3 rinse cycles. That's not good is it...?
I then invested in one of these

It's great. All the lint/ fluff goes into the middle and I can't believe I'm enthusing about a lint remover.
:D

Not purchases, bit sorting out things in my late grandfather's flat has yielded various jewellery belonging to grandma, late aunt and others. I was able to claim aunt's Omega watch (needs repair) as my 21st birthday nice watch was broken beyond repair last year, so very pleased with that.

Not sure if it's clear in the photo, but one item is my great-great grandfather's masonic ring!
