I bought a cheap (£5) Christmas tree patterned dress from eBay. It was a Chinese import being sold on lots of uk trader sites, but this was the only vendor selling it in my size. It arrived today.

This is my message to the seller.

“Hi. I have just received this item. It is not acceptable for the following reasons:

- The fabric and label are wet through. The parcel itself, including the label were perfectly dry, and the post bag undamaged and sealed. It was evidently wet when packaged.

- Not even close to the size ordered, even considering Asian sizing.
When I checked the label, the bottom part with the size had been raggedly cut off.

This is what it seems clear has happened. You discovered you did not have the size in stock. This is fairly obvious, because every other listing selling this dress shows it was either never available in my size, or sold out. Rather than refund the purchase, you found the largest (last?) remaining dress in this pattern and send that instead, cutting out the size from the label. And It must have been in a damp storage area - but wasn’t allowed to dry before posting.

I’m almost impressed by your ambition that this would work. But no. Refund please. Thanks.”

On the same day I found one of my go-to party dresses no longer really fits, as I have an overhang of underarm wobble now :( someone posted a link to a dress sale at Polkadots and Petticoats, so I bought this, seeing as it was only £15.

this time of year is a nightmare for my ebay habit

anyone have a clue if silk-lurex is steamable? from what i can gather lurex is plastic+foil, which gives a variety of ways to be able to fuck it up... or just wear with creases... is perfectly middle-aged-housewife-dressy to do my every festive occasion
