Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

I got some nice tailored winter shorts from Jaegar for £23 (down from £100) and diamante bow necklace also from Jaegar (£16 from £50).

I decided I was looking a bit faded and accepted the reality that I'm too old to go about without some sort of makeup. I've never been a girly-girl. So I bought some Loreal Retin-A foundation and my first false eyelashes. The eyelashes look a bit daunting to use. Anyone have any tips?

Re; eyelashes first of all try them on without glue....I like to trim them down a bit and often need to as I don't have huge eyes. They come already a bit tacky so should stick without glue for this purpose. Doing this also helps them mould to your eye shape a bit.

Then get your eyelash glue put a little bit of it on a lid or whatever plastic you don't need and run the eyelash bit that sticks to your eyelid through the glue, then wait for the glue to dry a bit and go tacky, then apply to your eye. Start from the inside corner and make sure both ends are stuck down properly or else they'll ping up. :D You want the eyelash to be stuck to just above your natural lashes but on the skin not to your eyelashes. It's useful if you have a stiff brish or a cotton wool bud to push the lash to the lid to make sure it's stuck. You can now use a bit of mascara to bind your natural lashes and the flasies together so they don't look too fake. Black eyeliner on the top hides a multitude of sins ;)

When you go to take them off soak a cotton wool bud in eye make up remover and soak the top lashline in it so that the glue softens and you can pull the falsies away, if you don't it can be painful and/or pull out your natural lashes

I hope that makes some sort of sense, youtube always have good videos on application too :)

Love that phase eight dress....I hit collectif yesterday and got a new dress and skirt :D

It's probably too late.

Thank you. That makes perfect sense. I'll have to try it a couple of times before venturing out with them. :)

high waist skinny jeans anyone? i tried some today and they fit fine and were really comfy but no fuckin way would i wear them with the high waist showing (i'm a recovering flares/wide leg wearer, just doesn't look right to me). are they worth getting for lack of muffin top/hoiking up? i'm looking on ebay and the high waist are £2 more than the normal ones. sorry i'm apparently utterly incapable of making a decision for myself, i just need some jeans that don't fall down.

The one on the left.

They are so good, i dont wear them with the high waisted but showing but they are comfy, flattering, great for tucking into jeans. I would heartily reccomend them :)

charity shop score:

D&G wool charcoal pinstripe jeans (unworn)
another sherman (this time it fits)
a white pinstripe button down junk de luxe shirt

and an incredible short sleeve floral shirt from tk maxx.

Black maternity trousers from Mothercare, black maternity leggings, two long tops from H&M. Think I've now got enough maternity stuff to see me through to end of March on top of what I have from last time.

a jacket from Folk
Was £170 in Liberty and I thought hmmm, not so sure, so I went to the folk shop and it was £95. Result :)

i just got this shirt delivered yesterday...

it's a bit loose. wondering if i should have got a medium instead of a large.

a handmade shirt, which is almost identical to another shirt I already have but in pale blue instead of red. And is the best fitting of any shirt I have tried.

Must have missed this Cloo....are you pregnant again?! (I avoid the duff thread, makes me too hormonal now  ) Congrats if so!! :):)

Wayward Bob I have some slim fit high waisted and they are good for hiding muffin top, just watch you don't get camel toe if they're skinnies :D

I got a fake leather full skirt from H&M that is a blatant rip-off of the Louis Vuitton one but a hundredth of the price, and a cream shift dress with bright orange and pink stripes, also H&M. Not sure about the fake leather - though part of me loves it!

Really heavy wool aquascutum jumper. I'll Probably only wear it a couple of times before it gets too warm, but I'll be toasty next winter...

I really love this Thracian armband (2nd-1st century BCE), and am thinking of asking an old friend, who is a master metalsmith, to make me a copy.
