I won free tickets to go to that, along with the book and the bag that go with the exhibition. I am probably going to go in October time.

Verbena face spray in L'Occitane. Flying to California next week, and my skin and lips always get totally dried out and manky on long-haul, so thought I'd treat myself to an extra nice spray, as I do find they really help me feel more comfortable.

I really enjoyed it, having nearly decided not to go because it was a tenner. I didn't go away full of bad ideas for making things though, which I thought I would have done, even though obviously I would have no use whatever for a ball dress per se.

My favourite dress was the Jenny Packham one worn by Sandra Bullock to the Golden Globes, although it clashes horribly with the red carpet. There was also a black and white polka dot one that screamed spanglechick to me.

I was discussing sartorial elegance with a girl at work who always wears nice clothes. I was bemoaning the fact that it can be difficult to not look like you're having a midlife crisis when you go shopping at my age. I think she said something about having a capsule wardrobe. I figured it was drug lingo. Then she said I should just stick to classics. Which is Greek fucking tragedy in my book. It was one of the most confusing conversations I've ever had.

Sod classics - they inevitably look painfully dated within a couple of years at most. And if they're cheap and/or badly cut they often look horribly boring. My take on a capsule wardobe is working out what I could more or less happily wear to death, given what I'll be doing and where I am.

Sod classics? Sod that!:p

I have a lightweight fishtail parka hooded raincoat, in lined black proofed cotton - weighs about 100g, rolls up great for holidays :) No idea where it came from originally - label had been cut out when I bought it for £2 from the charity shop

soz can't be arsed with pics, but i has been shopping  (had some money sat in my account since mr b offered to pay for my new hair as a congratulations-for-surviving-my-first-year-of-college pressie <3)

nothing arrived yet but have a black leather biker jacket, red decemberists t-shirt and a black frock on the way :)

so much for not spending on clothes atm  in honour of festies upcoming and much as i'm devoted to my old para boots gaffer tape holding the soles on is *not* a good look, not to mention the worn-through soles that always collect little stones leaving them twice as heavy and rattling as i walk :D so i've got me some new(used) ones. not the same style but the oldest i could find. and some bright pink wool socks too :)

i rarely post my purchases, because then i can pretend i don't buy so much stuff. that changes today! Full Disclosure!

this in black, which goes up to an H cup, so i'm only one 'sister size' out. reduced too, to £39. If any strapless bra is going to work it'll be this. Look at the structuring on those cups!

where's it from? I have to say Moose I did a search on you on this thread the other day because I always like the stuff you buy. I didn't get to look through the posts and realised v. quickly it would be pointless because it would all be gone from the shops now - but I'm watching you.... (in a non-stalkery way I promise!).... just wanting some nice clothes and inspiration.

so yeah... where's this dress from?

New Look Inspire, for the larger lady. Stalk away! :D

it came today and I really like it. My skulls are white and a v. pale pinky colour which I didn't realise in the photo but still like it. I probably would never have chosen that for myself but i think it suits me well - I wonder are you the same shape as me. you are my new style guru!

The problem now is getting shoes to go with it. I only wear trainers and sandals really. But even the sandals have to be very very comfortable. No ballet slippers or toe shoes without a really good thick sole. I have birkenstocks but I need the back strap - can't wear sandals without a back strap.

That being said I have a shoe cupboard FULL of pretty heels, sandals, ballet slippers, DMs etc, I just end up defaulting to my comfy shoes. I wanted to buy these but they're sold out. I'm also thinking that dress would look good with a red belt but again - wouldn't know where to start.

After two summers of heavy use, my khaki cotton shorts started shredding at the slightest excuse so I ordered two new pairs - also two new pairs of black combats in the same style for the winter - the others though nicely softened-up and faded, are too grungy for work. I cycle and sleep in them too.
I was holding out in the hope of being able to order at least a size smaller, but my weight-loss project had a setback over the winter / spring and I like them baggy anyway - so size 42 inch waist they are once more. :(

£82 for two pairs of trousers and two pairs of shorts plus two webbing belts = £40 a year = <£1 per week the only clothes purchase in 12 months...

Premier Man - they do up to 54 inch waist.
