Denim Jackets & the 40something male?

TBF, no one should wear red trousers. That has to be as close to a definitive rule as anything. They are beloved by wronguns, like local radio DJs and Bristol Mayors.

I'm told middle aged American tourists. If that doesn't put you of red pants (or shorts)..

Denim jackets are a good look for almost everyone. Dark denim looks more expensive. It needs to be big enough to do up without straining (even if you don't plan to do it up), but not much bigger than that.

Denim (chambray) shirts, otoh, require enormous skill to make look like western workwear, and not my dad in 1988.

I still have a nice 1990 Levi jacket but would hack off my thumbs with blunt secateurs rather than wear jeans of any size, shape or colour (shudder).

Some people manage to pull off the denim jacket look quite easily.
