Double denim is fine too. You can wear what you like (again though, I'd suggest making sure both jacket and jeans are dark indigo)
Interesting advice.I always aim to get the top and bottom as close in shade as possible myself - but they have to be dark. Too washed out and you start looking like status quo.
I'd like to see chilango in his stonewash stood next to Magnus McGinty in The Monstrosity, just for comparative purposes.
I hate contrasting shades of denim myself. It's all fine though. Just wear what you think looks good.Interesting advice.
I'd say the exact opposite. If you're wearing double denim, then don't make them match. And the jacket should probably (I know, no rules) be lighter. Just like the outfit chilango posted, actually. Black/dark jeans, your standard wash denim jacket.

wouldn't wear it myself, but I've seen it done well.Snow wash..?

TBF, no one should wear red trousers. That has to be as close to a definitive rule as anything. They are beloved by wronguns, like local radio DJs and Bristol Mayors.I'm not allowed to wear red trousers - it makes me sad, but in truth it's probably for the best...
for me it's either cowboy boots or cuban heeled chelseas. depending on how i feel.
i got a few different pairs of them:
A denim jacket is not a random neutral garment. It is pretty much a sub-midlife-crisis thing. Look at the images on the thread of denim jacket role models. Other men in their forties may approve, certainly.True, but a denim jacket is hardly purple pantaloons. It's an ubiquitous light summer jacket: if people are going to worry about looking a twat in something so totally ordinary, is it any wonder men's fashion is mostly such a dull and mud coloured affair?
It's a thread about men in their 40s wearing denim jackets, on a forum whose posters are mostly 40+. It's unsurprising bearing that in mind that most of the images posted here as inspiration are older men. It's bollocks that they aren't popular with the youth tho - I see them all the time on people of all ages.A denim jacket is not a random neutral garment. It is pretty much a sub-midlife-crisis thing. Any 40+ bloke in double denim is in danger of looking like a line dancer (apart from killer b obvs)
HBFSolidarność!
Wear what you want...denim is always good and everyone can wear it.
Denim jackets will never be anything but fashionable....they're classic.
The only question to ask is whether to get blue or black.......
Blue.
