Daft and untrustworthy advice about coronavirus

All the usual hogwash has just been repurposed for coronavirus. Colloidal silver, dubious supplements, yogic rituals, detoxing etc. Doubtless any vaccine that's developed will be accused of causing haemorrhoids, tuberculosis and alien abductions before it has even been tested on living matter.

Elsewhere facbook is a roughly 50:50 split between people mad at the government for not closing schools or businesses and people who are convinced that no closures are necessary. Can't help noticing a pretty clear trend whereby people with salaries and/or their own homes are in the former camp, while self-employed or hourly workers who rent their homes are in the latter.

Most of Facebook really. An endless torrent of made up crap, loon theories and bonkers cures, repeatedly reposted and shared. Quite a few friends have quit FB altogether as a result.

Times like this make me realise how fucking brilliant this site can be.
So glad I left that cesspit a few weeks ago

Amazing the cumulative results of good moderating decisions eh what :)

See, my sisters husbands, brothers hairdresser is married to a copper and he said that what it is yeah is that some CIA bloke in China got bit of a bat in Mulan and that was the start. Then the Mossad and Jeremy Corbyn made sure it came here so that Trump can win next May. And you know those pictures of Italy? All fakes. They are just pretending cos Barnier is angry Borris got Brexit done. And if you put a two pence piece under your tongue it neutralises the virus.

Actually an idea of mine which I'm not sure about so will put here for review rather than be irresponsible

1) Anti bacterial no good on viruses and the alcohol based stuff sold out effectively

2) Getting told 20 secs washing with soap effectve as breaks down lipid layer on surface of virus

logically therefore aren't the degreasing type cleaners that are still on the supermarket shelves more effective on viruses than the anti bacterial ones that are flying off the shelves?

ALIENS!

Ailing hens.

Apparently some insane bastards are even suggesting we should just allow it to run rampant through the population so that those of us who survive have some sort of 'herd immunity'.

In comparison to that, some of the stuff on this thread seems almost sensible.

One of Mrs Q's Aunt's found Jesus (didn't even know he was missing myself) a few years back and keeps posting religious garbage on FB about all this, though to be fair she posts religious garbage about everything not just COV-19, Apparently they are trying to get a million people together to pray for a cure.

A good torrential downpour for a prolonged amount of time may act as a natural scrubber to remove the virus from the atmosphere.... 🧐
