Custom number plates

Does raise the interesting question of whether "Not Us" in its many forms is inherently derogatory or not.
Well it's a fair point. But Judaism gets a free pass on lots of more extreme stuff - this is at the harmless end.

They were matching plates but not immediately obvious. Two expensive German motors on a social housing estate as well
:hmm:
That reads like something straight out of the Daily Mail.
If they're living on the estate, they obviously qualify for social housing.
Should people be forced to sell their worldly possessions if they fall on hard times?

How can we tell if the houses are "social" housing, anyway? Since the "right to buy" was introduced, many former council or housing association houses are now sold on the housing market at market prices.

They were both gone next day

With my last job, we had a few clients there in both the low rise and tower block. They were all social housing.

and many of them are rented out by private landlords at extortionate market rents...

They were both gone next day

could have been landlords come to check up on things?

I’ve seen the Boobs car about again recently and managed a sneaky snap the other day.

I kind of thought it might be passable if it was a lady driving it and embracing a kind of bawdy Babs Windsor style humour, but it was actually a bloke which is well creepy. It made a bit of a raspy noise like the cars twats used to drive around the scruffy bit of Leeds I used to live in.

It might of course be owned by a woman but being borrowed by a bloke or maybe it was owned by a plastic surgeon.

Or maybe it's owned by the CEO of Boost enery drinks, and that was the closest he could get to spelling the brand.

Unfortunately I have forgotten the personalised text in question (though it wasn’t particularly more wanky than most others), but I saw one on one of those Lambo hyper SUVs, and what caught my eye in particular was the fact that the actual number plate was not just severely trimmed compared with every other standard plate for cars, but it was trimmed in an unorthodox shape almost resembling the Superman chest crest. Excuse my pisspoor drawing skills but this is broadly representative (with the above plate being your standard UK plate for comparison)

Is that even legal? We’ve all seen reduced size plates for certain motorbikes or even the odd car where a full plate would not actually fit, but this is an SUV with a fat arse that would in fact be able to accommodate a double length plate…

this page links to a 12 page booklet that i can't face reading.

but i'm not sure shape of the plate is specified, so long as the letters are of the approved size / style / spacing and the plate is the right colour

Oddly enough they can be any shape, the one you saw is on many Urus's, fits with the angular shape of the car. As seen on Dotty's one last week in Kettering...
