Crafty Thread - what are you working on at the moment?

Me and lil fraction have been making this:

is it a radio? :hmm:

get thee behind me satan  you selling that ^ one? :hmm: :D

Yup. That one's a bargain at 80 quid (takes 10 AA rechargeable batteries). Or 100 quid with a lithium battery and charger, which should last all weekend.

The handles a bit borked but I'd fix that up before I send it out

I also have a red vanity case I'll be converting soon, it'll be a tenner more than the grey one.

Apols for the dodgy photo, lil fraction took it!

ooh hang on that was before you posted the red one :D decisions decisions :hmm:

Looks good to me - if Bob's happy with the grey.
Let me know how to conduct the transaction when you're ready.

Heh :D

It looks like vanity cases and briefcases are the way forward for me. They're like hot cakes compared to the other ones I build. Not sure if it's because they're smaller or because people think they're prettier.

Have you seen the others on the website? The ones marked about 200 I can do for 150. They're louder because they have two speakers (not that the one speaker versions are quiet!)

in my case smaller AND prettier :) the grey one is just a perfect balance of function and form i reckon  also i have a thing for old vanity cases. i'd never really have the need for a super loud one.

I teasingly had the invoice for my stamp yesterday, with the stamp stamped onto it (looks perfect!) but not the actual stamp because they'll have sent it to work. With an ink pad and VAT it came to about £20. Suddenly occurred to me that they might be good Xmas presents...

My stamp and all the CD bits came and I spent some time yesterday stamping the CD cases. It doesn't stamp altogether evenly - ink tends to concentrate around the start of the album title. Any suggestions?

Also, I twigged that by just using one line of the stamp, I could put the title onto the spines of the cases as well, which looks great :)

aww exciting Rubes - could you blot the stamp first or is that just going to remove all the stampy ink?

I got myself a dress pattern and a desctruction book about how to use a sewing machine. Had fun making my halloween cap and skirt even though theyre pretty wonky hem wise :D and its spurred me on to try something proper. I'm thinking I'll do a practice run in cheapo sheeting.

Should probably get myself some form of actual table too as although I can use the sewing machine on the floor my ankles have a tendancy to die and then I cant walk :D
