Crafty Thread - what are you working on at the moment?

How about this fabric Looby? I bought 4 curtains for a tenner on FB a while back, I thought they were mostly used up but it seems I still have two whole curtains. Still might be a bit bright/modern for you though.

They look gorgeous!
Yeah bit modern for this room and probably too bright but thank you. 😊
I like that this tapestry fabric is quite muted.

I’ll measure and order later. Still managed to spend 50 quid in hobbycraft and fabric land without actually buying what I went for.

Gorgeous work, if I had any money I'd definitely want a couple of those pieces, they're really lovely :)

My sister in law is a potter too, she does lovely stuff also with leaf designs.

Wife asked me to make a pendant similar to one she got on Etsy so these are a first attempt at that

Also got my porcelain stuff back but need to get some tea lights to show them off better - rather like how this one came out though, this one’s a sort of bowl tealight combo (whichever you prefer, I’d use it for miso or yoghurt)

I love the leaf imprints. Ferns make good imprints too. A few years ago I made some concrete stepping stones with various imprints.

The grape leaf and tendrils (2) hasn't retained the impression very well. I think I had too much sand in the mix.

A round, grey, concrete stepping stone with the visible imprint of a fern frondAnother stepping stone with, allegedly, the very unclear imprint of a large vine leaf and tendrilsAnother stepping stone with concentric circles of coloured glass marbles embedded in the surface

Yeah I need to get hold of some ferns but they don’t survive well once picked
Ah, I see what you mean. The process of making the pot must take a while. I have a fern in my garden.

In case anyone is interested, I made these in a plastic plant saucer. You grease the saucer, add whatever you're adding or imprinting and pour in the concrete.

In several cases I needed to touch up or redo the top in which case it's like icing a cake.

Sometimes, like for the marbles, I put a layer of sand in the bottom to hold them in place.

Oh no!

Excellent repair job though.

Are you able to prevent sawing into it in future? :hmm: Cos it is too good to be careless with!!

And because she’s really nailing the sewing and knitting these days the Tenuki bag my wife made me and her tote bag

One of my 'I don't sew for money but will do it for free if it sounds interesting' creations.

My friend is going to Royal Ascot next week and the dress she had specially made for her in Uganda is too short. So she has found another plain dress but wanted to dress it up with an African fabric belt and some trim on a clutch purse. But the clutch purse thing wasn't going to work so I offered to make her up a whole new bag. Serious pattern matching and I am very pleased with it!

Today, I’m making earring spaces in my Buddhas ears. I have two - one either side of the front door, on stands at eye level. I’ve bought them matching chandelier diamond (well rhinestone, but they look good glittering in the light) earrings and chokers.

Have started on a new quilt. It's still very much at the planning and initial stages. I think it's going to take months to complete.

It's also a way of using up some of fabric stocks I've accumulated over the years..I might have to buy some cream fabric as part of the design, because what I have on hand isn't heavy enough for what I want to do with it.

I have nothing to photograph yet, but will upload as soon as I have something done.

So the theme of my quilt is a peacock in a garden, in memory of my grandma who was a big quilter. I gave her a quilt twenty years ago which she was overjoyed at, as she made a fair few by that point and until then had never received one herself. It's going to be draped over her coffin at her funeral next week, then will be returned to me afterwards (she watched the Queen's funeral last year and it gave her some ideas).

Anyway, it's a peacock in a garden because she loved her garden and all the flowers and a peacock or two lives nearby somewhere and came up to the windows of her house frequently.

I haven't completed the second row of hexagons yet but the tail feathers will be over the bottom half of the quilt, which will be five by seven large squares.

That's a lovely idea ❤️

I've got a decent remnant of this Liberty lawn with peacocks on if you'd like it?

Don't get me wrong, I love making it and thinking of my grandma at the same time but my wrists are aching a bit with all the sewing. Totes worth it mind
