I recall at the end of '97 the Tories looked much the same as Labour do now at the end of this election year, ie unlikely to get back into power anytime soon. In fact it took them 18yrs. What I was mostly alluding to was that we will probably get a left wing Labour government who will start building council houses at the rate they were being built in the 60s when the balance in our divided society tips from the majority of house owners to the majority of renters who may then vote in such a government.

Apologies. Yes, I think that they have power and do want to grab more power. Just see how now they also want to curb the power of the House of Lords. How dare they voted to delay the tax credits cuts?!
