The odious Philp keeping his seat was one of very few disappointing results on 4 July.

Sadly, Croydon South is such a safe Tory seat that the local Labour Party members reckoned that Tory votes cmight as well be weighed, rather than counted.

Yes, it's gone down a lot, it was over 12k at one time. Even the posh bits of Croydon aren't as Tory as they used to be, and probably not as posh either.

He was shocked and upset. He asked the police to throw me out. We threatened to demand a recount. The police declined to remove me. His bleating to them that I had called him a cunt at least fifty times came across as a bit unhinged.
