The answer no one wants: salt in the vinegar first, then poured on your chips.
In all seriousness my habit is to put the salt on first, even though I know the logical thing (as I have voted) is vinegar for stickage.
Alternatively - salt the chips immediately out of the fry oil for stickage, then vinegar.
I agree.
Salt first.
Shake the bag. It gets distributed and sticks to the hot chips because of steam from them.
Then vinegar...because it soaks into the chips..it does not wash off the salt.
It sets the salt on the chips.
