Captain America: Civil War

"That prequel pants" has been part of the X-Men story arc since about issue 30 of the original comic. Every fan knows about it.
I'm not a comic nerd.

The animated TV series is how I learnt about the X-men.

Shit, I thought this was going to be about Captain America going back in time and kicking the crap out of the Confederacy, not the Avengers running around for 3 hours again.

i hope its better than batman vs superman :D

It is. Marvel know how to handle that many characters on screen. That was probably the best Captain America film and possibly the best Avengers one, too. There was one spoiler I already knew from the trailers - but the missus hadn't a clue, so she was surprised. And another character I'd forgotten had existed popped up; that was fun.

Most satisfactory :D

my cousin said much the same thing, may try and see it when i am back over as the cinema here is only showing it for a week :(

I saw it on Monday.

Fight scenes... Really do nothing for me at all. It's like watching a scrolling beat em up. Less is more, and in this film you get much more.

The first captain America film was better. Spiderman was good.

Saw it at the weekend. Dont know if not having seen the previous Capt Murica films helped or hindered but it was typical Avengers style fun.

watched it last night , thoroughly enjoyed it, and new spider man was really good, finally a proper peter parker, although as nice as she was aunt may was a bit of a strange casting choice, not complaining though

for me spidey was always supposed to be similar in demeanour to Flash, but without the jokey flippant side being so prominent. More earnest. Sometimes it seems like writers forget PP is still a kid really

waiting for a torrent on this, Winter Soldier bored the tits off me so no cnema for this one

Watched it last night, most of it anyway, got bored by the end so gave up on the last 20 minutes. Does pretty much everything you'd expect by the numbers. Overloaded cast though so there's not much by the way of real interaction between characters and even the 'big' moments feel a bit tacked on out of obligation. Hit the spot a few times though once the Civil War started. Meh, overall.

Agreed. Marissa Tomei is a decent actress, she's just too young to play Aunt May.

More coherent than Avengers 2, despite having even more characters. Didn't really get who the villain was or what he was up to, but I didn't really care either. Want more spidey now though.

One grumble though:

The bit at the end where Tony Stark finds out Bucky murdered his parents and then goes postal felt like a cheap excuse for one big final battle. And it was all for shit anyway coz bucky ended up back in cold storage until they find a cure for Hydra supersoldier conditioning. And from the bit at the start with Tony's traumatic memory thingy, it seems pretty clear Stark himself will be the one to find said cure, and then they can all shake hands on a draw and go fight Thanos or whatever.

Mrs Bates from Psycho:

In any case, Aunt May was played by Rosemary Harris in the Toby Maguire films who resembled the comic book drawing in age and hairstyle. Now they've done it, they can do smething different. She's been getting younger with every incarnation (last being played by Sally Field)

I always thought it was a rubbish design which tells you how the 60s viewed middle aged women: as white haired crones. Now that 51 is the new 31 there is no reason to stick to these dated stereotypes of what an "aunt" should look like.

Let's be honest here. They cast her so Robert Downey, Jr. would have someone remotely his own age to drool over. Got nothing to do with liberating middle-aged women.

Stark was proper annoying in this, normally I like his smartassed quippery but in this he came off as a cunt. Possibly because I was on team 'fuck that I'm not a number'. Spidey was great though, exactly how Peter Parker should be played. Oh the good Stark bit, when spidey is down and clearly fucked up and stark realises he's mainupalating a kid into such danger. That was good.

They've cast her for the new Spider-Man movie. Her appearance in this is merely a cameo.
