Captain America: Civil War

I like how some of the shitter superheroes are getting a look in now. Arrow. Vision (who in no way resembles DC's martian manhunter in terms of powers and tempermant). Bit weird that scarlet witch was going out with him but I'm told the vision/SW couple existed in the comics so OK

Afaik, Vision was the original Human Torch...

Let's be honest here. They cast her so Robert Downey, Jr. would have someone remotely his own age to drool over. Got nothing to do with liberating middle-aged women.
That's not a bad thing at all, considering that most Hollywood films cast women far younger than their male co-stars for them to drool over.

BTW. I haven't seen the film yet, so I have no idea how much drool there is. Also, no spoilers please, as I assumed Stark was still with Pepper.

He used to droll over Black Widow in front of Pepper so why would it be a spoiler?

He drools over lots of women in these films. I wouldn't really call it a spoiler that he likes women. :)

do you recon he bashes one out wearing the suit hand? It would feel like someone else was doing it and you could set the roboglove to 'frenzied' or 'slow' or whatever

Tried watching this last night. Man it's looooonng. I wanted to go to bed but then remembered I hadn't even seen Spiderman despite feeling like I was already two films in. So far it's better than ultron which is just terrible, but I wonder if my low expectations are helping it seem better. The plot doesn't really make a lot of sense and the wrong people seem to be on the wrong sides. This many characters don't really work in the film world. Comics yes, long running TV shows yes, but these films are a mess.

For some reason I felt like ant man and spidey were both on the wrong sides, ditto black widow and Guy Who Never Runs Out Of Arrows.

The only person I would have expected to be on Starks side would have been cabin murika, (and war machine maybe) that's including stark. Tottaly wierd set up.

To be honest that's pretty much where I switched off. The writers probably thought it clever to have Captain America go rogue (okay fine I can live with that) but then his opposite Tony Stark goes all straight and by the rule book.

That half of the equation just didn't work.

TBF the last time Tony Stark went off message he invented a killer robot that nearly destroyed the world. He feels he can't be trusted and, because he's a narcissist, that means no one else can be trusted either.

yeah he's captain america, not captain government of the day. Starks easily guilt tripped cos hes never forgiven himself for being an international arms dealer. And nor should he.

Only just managed to see it, but that was brilliant, top-drawer entertainment.

Good writing, some great emotional moments, plenty of well placed nods and fantastic set piece action scenes.

Villain was very well done too, a man with a plan and he actually won.

Black Panther and Spiderman were done perfectly as well.

Also Ant-Man / Giant-Man :D

Can someone help me with Vision? And The Infinity Stones? DotCommunist Reno

Is he.. uhm, was he Jarvis? After Ultron scooped him up did he get... extracted and become a 'person' on his own? I missed Stark getting Friday somewhere along the line, presumably in AoU

And as for the Infinity Stones - the blue one is Loki's, the purple one is the Guardian's and the yellow one is Vision's?? There are another three out there? I assume Thanos (?) wants them. The Avengers finale will be Infinity War?

This is fairly comprehensive on the subject of infinity stones.

Aunt may has been in her 70s since Spider-Man debuted in the 1960s and people are getting annoyed that they went in a diff direction with the character.

Spider-Man was great it's a shame he had to be shoe horned into the script.

Ant-Man saying "I'm good Arrow Guy, let's go" was my favourite line I think.

Barton was suitably grouchy here, I feel like they get closer to nailing his character each film.
