Avoiding meat and dairy is ‘single biggest way’ to reduce your impact on Earth

EXCEPT THERE WILL BE ZERO ANIMAL CRUELTY. And they're not in the UK. So why are you going on about them?

If we're only talking about UK food producers then we really should start the thread again, as pretty much every article you've posted here has been about US or global farming and food production.
The problem is that unlike meat production, synthetic meat production likely won't be economically viable on a small scale, so unless you're willing to pay 50 quid for a burger, you'll probably only be able to afford to eat your synthetic meat from one of the massive corps, who will be growing it alongside meat that is subject to animal cruelty. It's like buying your electricity from renewable resources and paying more for it, when your neighbour is consuming the same electricity for a cheaper price, and it's the exact same electricity from the exact same source.

But this is what organisations like PETA do - they take the worst possible practice (The USA has literally no welfare regs) and try to present it as though its the norm, globally. I've seen AR videos of them breaking into poultry units and its so heavily edited (made to look dark/dingy, when the issue with lighting from a welfare point of view was that the lights are nearly always on (this has now stopped), doors creaking, etc etc). Then they just make shit up for good measure - they ran a campaign backalong that said that shearing sheep involved skinning them alive, for example and certain people seem to lap it up.

I've seen slaughter vids from them that are a) blatantly not in Europe because no abattoir vet would let that happen (and yes, they all have a vet present) and b) seem not to be of animals for human consumption (inexplicably all dumped in a pile and opposed to hung up/gutted etc) so god knows what was going on, my guess is some kind of disease.

There should be NO no animal abuse going on, ever, so it's a bit rich for you to be complaining about an organisation that does important work highlighting the horrendous abuses that keep on happening.

The first cultured beef burger patty was created by Mark Post at Maastricht University in 2013. It was made from over 20,000 thin strands of muscle tissue, cost Mark Post over $300,000 to make and over 2 years to produce

By making shit up?
Awesome.
If the animal abuse was so bad, why would they need to try and convince people that shearing skinning them alive? Wouldn't there be enough actual abuse?

Edited to add - if you want to see how slaughter happens in the UK, the AHDB have videos on youtube you can watch. I've been in abattoirs, it is concurrent with my experience.

Human extinsion would end animal farming (by humans at least the ants are another matter.)

Jeff would be cool with that.

Tell your kids.

Yeah stupid but this thread is full of fuckwit statements so, you know.

Trying to paint all vegans like PETA is pretty pathetic but heh, clearly amuses a few of you like a lot of the puerile shit on this thread

Nobody did - I used them as an example of how farming is misrepresented. Editor then decided that they were relevant. He could have told me that they were fucking loons and not representative of vegans, but apparently they are to be taken seriously, and have an important role in exposing animal ag.

Make of that what you will.

Except of course, as above - Cargills also make synthetic, vegan meat alternatives.

Nice one Rik.
But it'll have a big green V on the packaging, so it's all good, even if it has been paid for with the profits from the animal abuse and suffering that's continuing in the factory next door.
It's almost as if the definition of veganism, for some, is in a constant state of flux.

That green V and small plant is marketing genius. I bet the guy who invented turkey twizzlers is kicking himself.

Ah, the lousy apologist hack has switched from science denial to his second favourite party trick of animal abuse denial.

I used to bother trying to refute animal torture industry propagandists like F-M but in the end their stamina in willingness to spew out endless, long-winded Trumpian denials of reality is too exhausting to bother with - and not a productive use of time to respond to.

The good news is that developments in bio-tech are likely going to wipe out the disease-ridden, abusive, destructive abomination that F-M and co defend.

Oh, I see, so instead of being swallowed up by mega corps they could instead become mega corps. That's so much better. Thanks for putting our collective minds at ease.

You really are quite deceitful and dishonest. Here's what I actually said.

Some got big. Some didn't. Some were happy staying small, others were happy to sell up.

And there you go again with another sweeping statement designed to belittle people with a different dietary choice to you.
