Audi drops young girl with banana car advert - what were they thinking?

They can't even spell "brake" correctly

"We hear you and let’s get this straight: We care for children. The Audi RS 4 is a family car with more than thirty driver assistance systems including an emergency break system. That’s why we showcased it with various family members for the campaign. We hoped we could convey these messages, showing that even for the weakest traffic participants it is possible to relaxingly lean on the RS technology. That was a mistake! Audi never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings. We sincerely apologize for this insensitive image and ensure that it will not be used in future. We will also immediately examine internally, how this campaign has been created and if control mechanisms failed in this case."

LOL - Pretending that its just about the questionable road safety aspects.

I'm far more disturbed by the thought that there are people out there who think a kid eating a banana is sexually provocative than this ad. The safety aspect I get albeit it's probably overblown. But as for the first the people saying they think it might be considered sexy need rounding up and interrogating.

The sexualisation thing is a red herring, it's having a child leaning on the grille of a car like that in the first place that's fucked up. And then the faux-apology talking about how the car is actually safe for 'weak traffic participants' just compounds it. What's the top speed of that thing? How fast does it accelerate? I bet their concern for the safety of kiddiewinks doesn't extend to reducing either of those numbers does it?

Their concern for the kids didn't extend as far as the air they breath either given their sister company (and almost certainly them as well) decided to cheat the system rather than bother to design a car that met the already pitifully low legal standards set by the EU.

The top speed will be 155mph, Audi's like all german cars are governed down to that (though mine has a little naggy alert that pops up on the dashboard at 80mph to remind me that I'm above the legal limt) Reducing that to 125mph or even 70mph will have absolutely zero impact on reducing pedestrian casualities. Humans are fragile things and any impact above about 40mph will kill us. The way to stop kids being killed by careless drivers is strictly enforced low speed limits (via speed humps and cameras) around schools and other places where pedestrians and especially children are likely to be found.
I'm an Audi driver (feel free to criticise, I won't be offended) but I am also a father and a grandfather and have zero sympathy for anyone who whinges about speed bumps, the things are there for a good reason.

With the tag line of let your heart beat faster- the girl should have been getting into the car with a choc ice

Or a bag of coke. At least that way they would have escaped the nonce bait stuff.

Tough day eh?

Wake up, have a coffee and a spot of breakfast. Find out the car you drive endorses and enables pedophilia.

In England I drive an A6, not a nonce-wagon A4.

But I am in Germany with a BMW 530i, limited to a poxy 240kph.

Like most car manufacturers, Audi are a bunch of cheating, lying cunts, happy to put their own self-interest and fat profits ahead of any health and environmental concerns.

Back in June2017, the German transport ministry accused Audi of cheating in emissions tests with its top-line models, the A7 and the A8.

At the time, Audi was asked to recall around 24,000 A7 and A8 models fitted with V6 and V8 cylinder Euro 5 diesels that were built between 2010 and 2013 over irregularities in emissions testing, the German media is reporting.

The affected models were said to pollute between 20 per cent and 100 per cent over the legal limit for nitrogen oxides (NOx) under certain driving conditions.

Yeah, this was a lot more worrying than some froth created by bored middle-class homeworkers.
Whole bunch of the manufacturers were at it too, weren't they?

The legal battles are still going on - and that's just for the ones who got caught out. Car manufacturers can be as bad as the old tobacco industry.

Thanks - I never saw a proper resolution to this, but didn't realise the legal stuff was still going on after all this time.

What the fuck where they thinking?

Controversial Audi ad (from Twitter)

This is sick.
In so many ways. And the parenta who push their toddlers into acting are fucking scum too. That child has no idea what she was used for in that ad. 😡

In a slightly different way, I have just seen a pictorial advert in a 1954 film which simply stated "mines a minor" with no pictures or other clues, at least I don't think so. Different times...here's something similar ( with illustration )I found. I really thought it was to do with moggies as well 😮
