Argentina - Mexico

Why is Hernandez on his knees praying? God is only a short distance away, in the #10 shirt.

Looking like a good game, hope it's as enjoyable as the one 4 years ago, but with a different result.

How crazy, the goal gets shown on big screen, everyone knows its offside, the ref knows, the assistant knows and yet they cannot chnage their minds. Football is a joke, Blatter has to allow technology now! I suspect we may see a very soft penalty for Mexico.

What would have been cool was if Mexico had refused to play on until ref disallowed the goal.

This goal also put to bed one myth about the technology thing. It doesn't slow the game down. More time was spent disputing the goal than it would have taken to get the decision right!

Irrelevant now

If Argies batter Mexico i hope that the two incidents today wont be swept under the carpet with the excuse that they didnt actually alter the results in the end!

Nonsense. Bad decisions are as much a part of the game as bad performances or hostile crowds.

I'm not sure about cool. It would have meant Mexico forfeiting the game and Argentina being awarded a 3-0 win. And BBC trying desperately to fill the schedule.

HIGUAIN! Go-Go-Go-Go-Goal, Go-Go-Go-Go-Gonzalo!

Agreed

but how on earth could the linesman possibly miss that?

I'm through with this World Cup. It's meaningless now: England's goal disallowed, Argentina's miles offside... what's the point?

Not to mention the USA's disallowed goal against Slovenia... no, I've had enough.

You sir are talking out of your arse.

How can you possibly argue that getting the correct decision everytime is not a good thing?

The only thing that could have gone worse for FIFA and Blatter in particular is if France had somehow managed to qualify for the latter stages.

How am I? They're part of the game, one of the many variables that makes football a compelling sport capable of surprising even the most jaded veteran.

Take that out of the game and it becomes a little less variable, a little more dull. And then what? Ban fans because they might - shock horror - influence the game? Play all games in closed-roof stadiums incase the wind or the rain causes a player to fuck up?

A load of bollocks. This is football, not fucking horse racing. GLT is a bag of shit.

You are talking shite here, albeit you have been doing all day so we should not be surprised.

Care to elaborate?

Bad decisions are part of football. Trying to standardise this stuff out of the game and you'll end up sterilising the game. You may as well propose banning chants or playing all league games on neutral grounds.
