how can she possibly stay in her job? remembrance day is pretty much a sacred day for most people in this country - and shes single handedly created a situation where a bunch of shit faced fascists have turned up to (probably literally going by past behaviour) piss on the memory of the war dead.

Without wanting to turn this thread into too much of a twitterfest, the LAFA account looks useful for info - most recent posts are:
The football chants have also resumed now that the minutes silence is over. Far right groups are now splitting off around the wider area having got bored of Whitehall. This means that they will spread out, some may go towards pubs, some may attempt to attack the palestine demo.
Multiple groups of fash are now moving to embankment, victoria, and particularly moving through trafalgar square.Monitoring is ongoing and pig force numbers remain quite high but moving off to keep pace.
This should not be interpreted as meaning that the fash have given up. It is very plausible that several groups may be trying to get to the palestine demo meetup site at hyde park.
Of particular note is a breakaway crew under tommy robinson moving along whitcomb street. The police seemingly have not found them. This group is reasonably large and mobile but poorly coordinated. We advise anyone out today to be on the lookout accordingly.
Update: the police have intercepted the bulk of this grouping in chinatown and have deployed TSG heavies. This makes far right fighting in chinatown very likely. Avoid this area
There are also fash in leicester square as of the last few minutes.
Fash numbers are at approximately a couple of hundred in parliament square also, as of a few minures ago.
Fash got into running battles against cops all over chinatown and tommy robinson has exited the area to his rear command bunker in a taxi.
This has now been confirmed by:
Cops yelling about it
Fash yelling about it
Hope not Hate
And various other sources. An extremely amusing episode. Scraps ongoing even without Gammon Napoleon.

Another thread from a journo who was at a Met press conference:
The Metropolitan Police used its powers to ban pro-Palestinian marchers, but not Cenotaph "defenders" and far right groups, from Whitehall today.
When asked why, the senior officer in charge of the operation said he thought they would "not cause serious disorder by themselves".
At a press conference, DAC Laurence Taylor did not use the term "far right" and called the Cenotaph event a "counter protest"
He said: "Counter-protest will be allowed in Whitehall, because the sole purpose and intention is to protect the sanctity of the Cenotaph and remembrance".
DAC Taylor added: "I don't anticipate there'll be any disorder from that group - the disorder will come from a pro-Palestinian group going into that area whilst they are there if they are there.
"If a counter protest is within that Whitehall footprint, I will be allowing that."
Journalists asked DAC Taylor several times why only pro-Palestinian protesters were banned from the area around Cenotaph.
He said: "I've got no issue with a group going to Whitehall in order to protect the Cenotaph. They will not cause serious disorder by themselves."

Aged well. :)

That's below par journalism from Sky there. The presenter comes across with the bounciness and enthusiasm of a children's television presenter and the political correspondent/editor misspoke some of the quotes and also invented/assumed additional details that weren't in the quotes, which was rather worrying. I know how difficult it can be to go live and especially to ad-lib in such circumstances, but still. * cringe *

Yeah, encouraging a lot of extreme far-right wingers to head to London for a counter-demonstration to something... what could possibly go wrong?!? :hmm::eek::facepalm::rolleyes::D

Yeah im on my way. Still on the train but hoping to be there for 1.15. I suspect it'll be huge so you cant really be late can ya.

I was going to drive up (coach from near here left at 8am ufff and I was out late last night) and park in West London somewhere then Tube but it's actually nice having some space to rest and reflect beforehand.

The Daily Mail have thrown Tommy Robinson under the bus and are leading with what a disgrace the fash are. Meanwhile the BBC have relegated ill-defined counter protestors to a mention near the end of their article on police putting an exclusion zone around the cenotaph because of pro-Palestinian demos. Probably waiting for a senior tory to drag themself out of bed and tell them what to say.

One of my sisters is there, has apparently managed to find a large group of Jews to join up with.

Last post dump from the LAFA account before I go out to the shops:
Various minor groups of fash have attempted unsuccessful harassment, but despite this the PSC march is off and in large numbers and high spirits. Remain wary however. Further updates as they come.
There are some fash remaining at key stations like victoria, some far right racist assaults in trafalgar, a small group of fash near hyde park corner, and other small moving bands.
Parliament square is the site of a police Kettle. Chinatown situation has largely dispersed as of the last half hour.
Heavy police presence moving in the piccadilly area, in the vicinity of victoria, and along key points of the march route. large tsg groups are redeploying. Stay safe all.
Several far right agitators are congregating at Vauxhall Bridge and are clearly preparing to attack or try to block the march.
There is still action in chinatown and trafalgar square, plus fights in parliament square, and small numbers of police cavalry are present. These areas remain messy with large TSG deployments and roving fash.
DFLA are now issuing instructions to fash to actively target vauxhall bridge, and heavy police reinforcements are very close by. We expect the far right to attempt an attack on the march, and many of them are drunk.Fash are at north and south ends of vauxhall bridge currently.
There are fash in THESE areas north and south of the main route crossing point at Vauxhall bridge, but also generally around the whole bridge zone. There is significant cop presence and lots of heckling. We strongly advise all people out today be very careful in these areas.
