Anti-Semitic Incident in Oxford Street

It was v close to Marble Arch/Edgware Road (just the other end of Oxford Street). That is an area usually full of wealthy Arabs and it has started to gain a reputation for unpleasant anti-semitic incidents. To a certain degree, it's the flipside of the cars driving around with flags flying and horns tooting when, say, Egypt wins an important game of football.

Bit more of that sort of thing here:

I fear that we have a major generation of anti-semitism on our hands in the UK. Corbyn was the cover for it to grow and it seems to come from two impulses - (i) the secular left and (ii) Islamic community politics. That second limb is especially concerning - so many of these 2nd gen immigrant kids from Muslim heritage are ferociously anti-semitic.
Corbyn was the cover for it to grow?

it'd imvho undermine this tidal wave of anti-semitism you're predicting if the zionist entity ended the conditions for continued conflict in gaza and the west bank - if it did what's really in their best interests and helped create a viable palestinian state

You really think that would make racists less racist?

You certainly have no problems with pigeon-holing people. You also don't seem to have much of a clue about Edgware Road, which seems to have plenty of middle-class and poor people with roots in the Middle-East. Why should I trust the judgement of someone who makes crude generalisations about kids from an Arabic background anymore than I would trust the judgement of those who make generalised statements about Jews?

And if you're born here your not any kind of immigrant .

A kid on the bus can be heard saying something about Allah, no doubt in response to something, caused the shoes to come out and
turned casual racist abuse to swivel eyed raging.

‘Yallah’ or ‘allah’ (they mean different things).

I heard a woman (?) say ‘yallah… we are Jewish’.

Says a right winger. No tories then, and even the far right's gone all conciliatory.

I've done some canvassing in the area before. I know it quite well actually.

Yeah. I recognised those thugs as Labour Party members immediately, obviously left wingers under the control of Corbyn.

Quite. So apart from telling a bunch of kids to hurry up, what was the anti-Muslim racism here?
