Amanda Knox Is Innocent

She's still a proven liar who tried to frame an innocent man.
People don't always react honourably when under this type of pressure, Gerry Conlon of the Guildford 4, gave the names of the Maguire family to the Police.

Really feel for Meredith's family. Must be absolutely terrible for them. Unfortunately all the fous will be on Foxy and Raf, it's a shame there's not more focus on the correcting the failures in the investigation.

It's all just a bit fucked up. They need to find the real murderer... fuck knows whether they did it or not, but I reckon there was reasonable doubt - so in that respect some form of justice has been served I guess. It's all a bit shit tbh.
Yeah, messed up, really messed up.

I doubt she has ever acted honourably in her life.

I can't even begin to imagine. Pure hell. Lose your daughter/sister in the most gruesome way. A very public trial to see justice not served. Fuck! Not sure how I would feel.

tbh the way victims' families often get treated by the press is beyond disgraceful (Dowlers, Kerchers, plenty others)

Yeah, was wondering about this - what exactly did she say about him? Just that he was at the house on the night of the murder, is what I heard...? Mightn't we all "suggest" another possible culprit if we were accused of murder? And the Italian prosecution have tried to frame two innocent people (knox and matey-boy, if that wasn't clear) so is this really such a crime?

The evidence that convicted Guede is overwhelming - handprints in Meredith's blood, lots of his DNA at the scene, him admitting being at the crime scene at the time it happened, and quite a few other things IIRC. Whether he acted alone is something that we will probably never know.

I wonder if there's any link between this verdict and Berlusconi's trial (ie making a laughing stock of the Italian legal system). Probably not, but the whole situation's so bizarre and twisted (in a wider sense, including Silv's troubles) that I wouldn't be surprised.

Whole load of nasty fucked-up weirdness, dunno what to make of it. Mental scenes on telly atm

How did she know he was there if she wasn't. I think her statement was a specific "I saw him entering the house".

Yeah. I think he was part of it, the rest we'll probably never know, as you said.

I think Meredith kerchers family have a right to be very angry at the incompetence of the Italian police. I'm fascinated by the continual lies of both Knox and Sollecito, I wonder if we will ever finds out why they repeatedly lied and contrasdicted each otehr and themselves time and time again. It is of course possible that they were innocent and simply and utterly out of their depth, it's also possible that their guilt was missed by the way the investigation was carried out.....

Yeah spot on Fed. I really hope the family don't get overlooked in coming days, they're the real victims of this fuck up tbh.

Are you mental? Perhaps ask the bloke she tried to frame if it was such a big deal - I think I know what his answer might be.

hmm, bit naughty, I suppose. but when you add in the fact that she apparently "confessed" as well, we can safely say that she was under a lot of duress to say something, anything, everything by the cops and she's served a few years for it, so I would suggest her debt to society is payed.

Not thoroughly searching the crime scene for more than a month is astonishingly incompetent, tbh. You could perhaps understand it if it was a field or large open space, but to be talking about the room in which the victim was murdered beggars belief.

Yeah, being picked out for no reason and being the subject of an attempt to frame for murder, no biggie... You twat.

Absolutely - the whole thing is so fucking messed up and the Italian police and investigators have a lot of questions to answer.

For the 100th time, they put that suggestion in her head (about Lumumba) and harassed her until she agreed with their version of events. She was scared, in shock, and confused/didn't speak Italian.
When they found out Lumumba had an alibi, they just switched the story around, replacing Lumumba with Guerde.
If Amanda and Rafaelle had had a solid alibi, they probably would have found someone else to put in their places too.
This was clearly the version of events the wacked out prosecution wanted to believe. The head prosecutor has just gotten out of jail for other made-up stories that put innocent people behind bars ffs. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/nov/25/amanda-knox-appeal

I doubt perception of her will change with this aquittal. The general "she's a wrong un" opinion will win over

She spoke fluent italian...

I didn't say it was no big deal. I said I was wondering about this as I didn't know the full facts, and trying to empathise with someone who was obviously put under a lot of pressure and did something very bad that they might not have ordinarily done in less exceptional circumstances. I was also juxtaposing the framing of one innocent man by a fallible human and the punishment she has received, against the framing of two innocent people by a fallible system and seeing how that fitted in with your view on the matter.

Apart from the fact that her Italian was/is near fluent.
