Amanda Knox is Free - NOT GUILTY

You don't say!
And yet doesn't it speak to a lack of character, a lack of robustness on Knox's part that she "confessed" after being exposed to only a small percentage of the treatment Guede was subjected to? :)
And pointed the finger at the only black man she knew well by name, which is entirely consistent with Guede's story of interrupting the murderers, who fled, with a male saying "There's a black guy here, let's go".

I think Guede is lying when he says he recognised Knox and Sollecito at the scene, but I don't think he is lying about what happened that night (from his perspective, he doesn't know everything: the other room hadn't been fake-broken into in his story which, if true, means that was done when the murderers returned to clean up the place, which also fits with the ear witnesses who heard multiple people running away at the time Guede is known to have run).

The story has consistently come over with an undercurrent of that.

And what with Knox being, on the other hand, a photogenic young American brunette, it a was fairly obvious undercurrent.

No, but I can't be arsed with the drivel. So now there's ample links, and no reason for the derail.
But he's like Gremlins. The drivel multiplies every time it is responded to. At least if you ignore him he gets stuck on the same easily ignorable point. :(

Here here. Please don't indulge him. It's just muddying the waters of a perfectly decent and interesting thread. The last thing we need is another moronic philathon.

I didn't follow the original trial(s) much beyond the level of watching the news, but was broadly aware of the ethnicity and gender undercurrents. Came to this thread thinking I'd catch up, only to find it's been fucked up. Phyl, you're really too old to be playing these games. I've no idea what your age is, but provided it's over 12 you're too old.

And we all know that admissions of guilt have never turned out to be miscarriages of justice...

As if it weren't bad enough being forced to repeat what I said on the other, 41-page thread. Now it seems I must also repeat what I said on the previous page of this thread.

Yes.

In fact the intelligent reaction to my point would have been to note that Knox has also admitted it.

Another point that was dealt with, in detail, on the other thread.

As I understand it, that doesn't mean it's over.... Just that it has to go back to trial

No, it means it's over, for good. Cannot be retried, as far as what I read...and which is apparently an unusual decision.

"The Italian Court of Cassation overturned the guilty verdicts issued last year by a Florence appeals court, and definitively cleared both Ms. Knox and her former boyfriend,Raffaele Sollecito, of murder and sexual assault charges.

The court found that the pair “did not commit” the crime, dealing a harsh blow to Italian prosecutors. The court gave no further explanation for its ruling; it will release a full account of its reasoning within 90 days."
