20+ killed in university in Virginia US

Apparently the killer lined up some of his victims and excuted them in cold blood :( ,as long as the Yanks have crazy fucked up gun laws this will always happen

Both Switzerland & Israel have more weapons in private homes but none of these type of spree killings. In Switzerland every member of the military (both on active service & reserve) have to keep their assualt rifle at home in good order. The same with Israeli citizens.

You're all aware that the vast majority of unversities ban guns on campus, right? My uni banned them on campus, in residence halls, and fraternities, and all campus housing. Even the ROTC people had to check in and out their weapons from storage with campus police each time they trained.

Do people buy guns on campus? No. They purchase or procure them from OUTSIDE of campus where they are widely available with or without licenses.
So the issue of whether they are allowed on campus or not is completely irrelevant.

WHY, WHY in gods name would that make the slightest bit of difference!!!

If somebody is planning to do a thing like this then a pathetic rule like that is not going to change their mind is it!

The student would have had to have lived off campus for that to have any truth. There is not access for a student living on campus. He couldn't have just bought it, as there are waiting periods.

Lucky you. At Oxford they used to wheelclamp my mobile rocket launcher at the Headingley turn-off.

I think the suggestion is that he could have brought it off campus and then smuggled it into his dorm or whereever?

The point is that guns arn't as freely available as some would think. My city, bans handgun ownership, unless you go through a training program, criminal background check and licensing. They've issued less than 100 gun licenses in a city of 250,000.

Shit, drugs were banned in my Uni, but everyone had access to them they just went outside!!!

But in the UK guns aren't available. In the US they are. People can't just find guns like they can in the US.

Anyone on U75 have the chance of buying a hand gun, or any other gun excluding an air rifle?

That's probably just their wishful thinking.
That is probably only you in one of your anti Muslim moods.

From the amount of pro USA boards I've read, I'm sure many of them wish is would happen in ME countries everyday.......

Even more wish the US would drop "nukes" on us to turn "the entire Middle East into a glass desert".

on topic:
I just heard a European correspondent in Washington say that just like in all the other cases, it is a given that this would have absolutely no impact on the "gun control" debate. He said that every potential candidate for the next presidency makes sure it is known he has a few weapons and also uses them.

salaam.

But thats because all those countries have manditory miltary training, before they get these weapons. They spend weeks in basic training, were they can be evaluated and it can be seen if they are the kind of person who should have a gun. In the US you wait, what, three days?

They have a fucking driving test, before you get a car, well having a fucking gun test. Marksmanship, Basicfirearms maintence, prove you'll keep your guns in a safe place, with at least a hour's psychological examination, and a test about responsible gun ownership before they get their licence.

In the US, guns are available shops, they can be robbed!!!

In the UK you can't steel hand guns like you can in the US. There are no shops selling 9mm's of Tech 9's in the UK. Thank God. :)

That's why you see this sad thing happening over and over in the US, tough shit, your laws your problem

Yeah well thats one city theres plenty of places where you can buy weapons easy fucking peasy and drive over to your city.

It's needs to be a national Federal policy.

I'm sorry but how naive can you be, guns are available in england and.. guess what.. they're not in anyway legal.

Now think about how easy it must be to buy an illegal gun in a country where there must be millions of guns available!

You obviously haven't been following the recent news about gun crime over here. I've seen interviews with young people saying they can get a gun within an hour rent or buy.

By the way, in Moscou and St.Petersburg I saw innocent little shops in the middle of busy streets where you can buy everything you like... I always wanted to get some of those little granates but I'm too scared of the things to touch them.
Killings however seem to be more drugs and other maffia business related and more involving knives then bullets anyway. But I can be superficially informed. It's not the types of streets or companions I frequent. Not even as a hobby ;)

salaam.

Maybe, but can they break into a shop and steal those guns?

In the Uk the guns are hard to come by, unless you can get guns yourself?

In the US people can easily get them compared to the UK unless you have more knowledge than me on this matter?

Course they are, just not quite as legally as they are in the US. Apparently there's a programme on tonight on Sky about Ross Kemp going to Brixton and Peckham visiting the gangs and asking about the availability of guns.

I don't have Sky so I'm only going on what I've heard

Which is why making them illegal in the states won't work. We already have 300 million of them in the general population. I don't know many people who'd turn them in if the law demanded it. So what do you practially do from that point?

My city has training and licensing and we have years at a time with no murders whatsoever. We also have law enforcement that is serious about enforcing existing laws. Most jurisdictions don't enforce the laws that are on the books.

In the US you can go to a gun shop. They have guns, they can be stolen.

Can you go to a gun shop in the UK to buy hand guns, m16's ect?

I'm sure the illegal gun trade in the UK is as bad as the US but with fewer guns :)

What are you called on your Pilot's licence Aldebaran?

It used to be Lunatical Madman. In Arabic and translitterated Arabic. No living sould I can't bribe or threaten (or both) understands that.

Look. Said it before. It doesn't sink in. Yanks like guns. When you (If non-Yank) wanted a pressie what was first on the list? bike? model railway? Playstation? new amp?

Or a GA gun off an A10 Thunderbolt?

They are a warped culture.
