Thought I was forgiven but not sure now!

Was brushing her with furminator which she kind of/mostly likes, got loads of floof out then accidentally got the little bit of dread left near tail so miawowed and moved away
Still had a load of free floof attached to floofy back legs so I reached to get it off for her and she whacked me really really hard on hand! Like a punch and drawn blood in 4 spots on my hand from 4 spread claws! Some power!

I don't want to speak too soon, but I feel like Jakey might be improving a bit.
He seems to be weeing 3 or 4 times a day instead of 3 or 4 times an hour.
Still going on the floor, but I don't know how much of that is a) he's weed on the floor a lot the last few days so it seems like the right place to go and b) off his tits on gabapentin makes it difficult to get in and out of the litter tray.
But things feel a little - calmer - today.

I hope he's continued to improve today; my recent experiences mean I've got some idea of the rollercoaster you are on (not in any way the same mind). Hope you're doing okay, it's tough as fuck when they are unwell. Please unload here.

Yeah that face is not really saying I forgive you, is it? 🤣
I hope your hand's OK - even with my gentle lad I still get scratches where he skids across me and it can be painful!

Thanks!
I managed to get a sample off him today and he filled the pot in one go which is a more normal quantity of piss than he's been doing - and no visible blood in it, which is an improvement.
So we're waiting for urinalysis results.
Current vet bill £285
But Jakey seems to be feeling a little better (although still off his tits on gabapentin!) 🐱 ❤️

That's good news, here's hoping the results reflect that.

Poor Lil’ Bob’s skin complaint has returned and the poor lad is scratching himself bald with irritation. Got him booked into to vet for next Tuesday so hope he doesn’t feel too wretched before then. I love the wee fella and to see him so despondent breaks my heart.
Ooh, poor baby! Has the vet recommended anything for temporary relief in the interim?

Oh my god YES.

Look at their little panther faces <3

My problem is that one of Mrs Fish’s pals also has a pregnant cat. She intended to have it fixed after its first litter but it got pregnant again too soon.

Its first litter were magnificent tabby type kittens - the mother is a very elegant cat with some Siamese/very short hair cat in her, so really distinctive.

Or should I go for a kitten from each litter?

I think we both know the answer to that

Nope - but we’re keeping a close eye on him in the meantime. He’s a stoic wee soul but if it looks like he’s in too much distress, we might petition for an emergency appointment

I once knew a cat who was very allergic to newsprint. Itchy, scratchy, bald patches, miserable. Cleared up.complety when the people stopped using newspaper to.libe his sleeping box.

Yes.

After a couple of good days, Jakey's had a bit of a relapse today and has been struggling and doing dribbles and sometimes bloody/mucusy drips of wee on my lap (I think partly because going back and forth to the trays is tiring, and he feels comforted when he's on me)
I phoned the vet earlier and only part of his urinalysis has come back, still waiting on cultures - which I know takes a few days but it's still a pisser - no pun intended, not a lot to joke about when you're watching your cat being unwell and are waiting on those results for a prognosis and (hopefully) treatment plan.
