Your daily cat and kitten news

We came home today from lunch and Mr Bruce had past away in his favourite spot under our bed. We think he was about 13. No signs of any trauma. He seemed so fine and healthy.

RIP mr Bruce x
I'm so sorry for your loss, that must have been a horrible shock for you and your loved ones, it being completely out of the blue like that.
I hope that when the shock starts to dull, it is of some consolation to you that it doesn't sound as though he suffered at all and slipped away gently at home.

She has been unwell recently which has been mildly traumatic after losing Neela earlier this month. She has had a suspected UTI (random pissing all over the place, nothing coming out bar the occasional bloody drop). Vet initially prescribed antiinflammatory and probiotic and she seemed a bit better at first. They also suggested it might be a stress reaction to Neela not being here. She goes mental for the antiinflammatory  but after a couple of days in that she did get UTI symptoms again and had a bit of diarrhoea so back we went. She's now on antibiotics which she is much less keen on.

She's older than Neela was and looks it but she is also very much a fighter, always bloody hungry, will whip food out of your hand if she can and really likes to lick my nose which is gross and cute at the same time.

I know I will lose her at some point but I hope she doesn't go through the same awfulness Neela did

Crossing everything for you Callie and Tiny Poo.

Also, sorry for your loss ffsear

And now it's my turn. I'm very sad to report that poor Lyndon took a turn for the worse over the last week and so yesterday we decided it was time to let him go.

We are, of course, gutted. Seemed particularly cruel after he rallied a couple of weeks back, but this Saturday I watched all the fight go out of him :(

From half-starved stray in Birmingham, to terror of our neighborhood in Devon (lady on local Facebook group actually called him "a terrorist!" fucking lol, they are murder machines lady) to surprise cuddles with Little Miss and finally soppy lap cat, he was the best of Gingers, he was the worst. We loved him. We still love him.

Oh no, poor Lyndon - and the both of you too, I know how devastated you must be. :(
You did everything you could for him, and said goodbye so he didn't go through any more when it was clear that he wasn't going to pull through - can't ask for more than that really, he was lucky to have you both.
Rest in peace Lyndon.

I will always wonder if I could have done more earlier.
Devastated is the right word.

I know exactly what you mean, I feel the same about my Sonic, should I have spotted something sooner.
I do think it's unlikely as they are very good at hiding it if they feel unwell and it has to have got serious for them to show signs.
When we lose a pet that we have 100% responsibility for their health and wellbeing, I think there's an additional stage of grief that we go through - and that is guilt.
Much love to you and your Mrs. Such a difficult thing to go through.

Thanks Epona, wise stuff as ever.
I know you went through the mill with Sonic and I wish I'd had something half as smart to say to you at the time.

Give all your cats an extra hug/stroke/respectful nod (disposition appropriate) tonight.

Bella still enjoying her electric blanket. From the hair, you can tell its getting good use. :D Gave it a wet the hand and brush over it clean about two weeks ago.
