His original owner buggered off and left him, he then got taken in by a neighbour, but expelled for pissing.

His next home was diagonally opposite us, but he wasn't being fed, so he came to us and we fed him. He learned how to use the cat door, so we gave him a blanket on a chair in the kitchen then of course you awake and he is curled up on the end of the bed. He's been with us about four months now, and he shows no sign of wanting to leave. :)

He was desperately thin when he came to us, he's about 50% up weight wise. An affectionate wee soul. We didn't actually want another cat.:D
He's a gorgeous fella.

So I guess you're now his official humans then. How does he get on with Effie?

We don’t have any more wet food until this afternoon (she’s got biscuits through), so Trillian has come to get me out of bed and complain about “the staff” (the children, who pretty much always do her breakfast these days).

Also whilst I sadly can’t screenshot, my phone now has a cat identification button and wrongly thinks she’s a ragdoll in this photo!

You might not have wanted another cat but he knew you needed one all the same 😼

A magnificent beast.

Dusty is her name. She can be a bit of a Queen. Last year, my sis also took on the shy cat of an elderly relative with dementia. Dusty wasn't keen on sharing space with Willow at first (to put it mildly), but this time when I was over, they were lying out within a foot or so of each other. Should have got a pic of that. Maybe next time.

Oh noes, the vet (where we get her specialist food) is shut when it’s not meant to be! 😭 Biscuits all weekend then. Hopes and prayers for her 😬

You thought about getting a chip-activated catflap? They're not perfect, as an invader can tailgate their way in, but it ought to prevent most attempts.
I don't mind him coming in. He's a lovely cat, even if he has a one track mind. I have to pick him up and distance him from the food for his own sake as he's like me, never full and getting tubbier. And my cat has never been bothered, He just lets him get on with it. Even my late, very territorial cat just used to let him come in and eat what he wanted.

He does he same in at least another five houses in the street. He's the main topic of conversation in the neighbours whats-app chat group
