I've commented from the outset that much of what has come out has no valid reason for being secret in the first place.

I can't agree that all diplomacy should be conducted in the open though - likesfish has commented about the discussions with the IRA, I have mentioned the stuff about Chinese officials and their apparently laid back approach to the idea of a unified Korea, run by the South which was amongst the leaks. None of this is helpful out in the open. Anyone involved in any negotiation will tell you that there is a time and a place for revealing your hand.

of course. But those are different things. You dont go into a negotiation telling your opposite number exactly what your actual bottom line is, but all those negotiations can still take place in the open. I dont really know why it hurts about China and Korea, if anything, that fact being out there puts far more pressure on the North to open up.

Yes. It can. Evidence involves lots of stuff apart from "spunk". If all you needed was "spunk" to prove rape the conviction rates would be a damn sight higher than they are ...
The allegation isn't of rape, it's not even about "conviction" but the public prosecution threshold.

Try to keep up.

There was insuff evidence - and that can really only mean one thing in an allegation of this type.

Assange hasn’t been charged with any crime, but denied bail and held in custody until at least December 14th, when a court will decide upon the Swedish request for extradition.

At least Mrs Clinton has been busy.

Sits well alongside her attempts to garner info about the UN that you could only use for blackmail.

Both in a very specific context. One which the mods found to be not unreasonble. You are proudly a friend of pimps (from your own mouth that) and (ashamedly) a user of sexual services. I think I know who the bigger wanker is, but thank you for your invaluable input.

Why don't you stop being a berk? Take the day off.

7 Steps to Legal Revenge by Anna Ardin

January 19, 2010

I’ve been thinking about some revenge over the last few days and came across a very good side who inspired me to this seven-point revenge instruction in Swedish.

Steg 1 / Step 1

It is almost always better to forgive than to avenge

Steg 2 / Step 2

You need to be clear about who to take revenge on, as well as why. Revenge is never directed against only one person, but also the actions of the person.

Steg 3 / Step 3

The principle of proportionality.

Remember that revenge will not only match the deed in size but also in nature.

A good revenge is linked to what has been done against you.

For example if you want revenge on someone who cheated or who dumped you, you should use a punishment with dating/sex/fidelity involved. (edit- like a rape accusation? dylans)

Steg 4 / Step 4

Do a brainstorm of appropriate measures for the category of revenge you’re after. To continue the example above, you can sabotage your victim’s current relationship, such as getting his new partner to be unfaithful or ensure that he gets a madman after him.
!

Use your imagination!

Steg 5 / Step 5

Figure out how you can systematically take revenge.

Send your victim a series of letters and photographs that make your victim’s new partner believe that you are still together which is better than to tell just one big lie on one single occasion

Steg 6 / Step 6

Rank your systematic revenge schemes from low to high in terms of likely success, required input from you, and degree of satisfaction when you succeed.

The ideal, of course, is a revenge as strong as possible but this requires a lot of hard work and effort for it to turn out exactly as you want it to.

Step 7 / Step 7

and remember what your goals are while you are operating, ensure that your victim will suffer the same way as he made you suffer.

And we are expected to believe that this woman is a poor victim? I think not.

Hold on though.

That was posted 8 months before she ever met the bloke (if she actually posted it at all).

Admittedly it doesn't show her as peaches and light, but it doesn't mean she's lying does it?

Some of the girls here have posted similar stuff. Doesn't mean they're automatically lying when they shout 'rape'.

No it doesn't. But add it to the rest of the evidence. (some of which I posted earlier ) along with the timing, and the very real threats from powerful enemies. Most importantly when compared with the total LACK of any evidence to substantiate the women's claims, and the whole think starts to smell very fishy indeed.

Well we don't know what the evidence is yet.

So far all we have is a load of media speculation and a bunch of blog posts from very biased sources.

we know the evidence was looked at and then dropped, by the authorities, 3 months ago.

He had consensual sex with a split condom. (which isn't even a crime in this country, how can they extradite someone for something which isn't even a crime in this country) It isn't rape, and never has been. That was the media machine in full effect.

That's not the case if he split it on purpose, is it?

In the UK for consent to be valid it must be "informed" consent - i.e. the person must know the nature of what they are consenting to and do so in the light of that knowledge. If consent was on condition that a condom was used and it was not, then it wouldn't be valid consent, certainly if the woman knew that a condom wasn't being worn (in fact, she'd just withdraw her consent, which can be done at any time in any event anyway). If she didn't a condom wasn't being worn it would be less clear. If she didn't know because there was some sort of deception practiced on her then it would be less clear. If a court were satisfied that the presence or otherwise of a condom was part of the "nature or purpose" of the act (and I would not like to guess which way the courts would go on that) then s.76 Sexual Offences Act 2003 would come into play and there would be a conclusive presumption that there was not consent. If they concluded otherwise any deception would be a matter which just impacted on consent generally and a matter for the jury.

being held on the basis that he purposely split the condom solunds just bizarre. How on earth could it ever be proved?

Julian Assange and the long internment...

So how long will this imprisonment last ...

Will this current case even ever get to court in Sweden?

This time next year will Assange still be in prison, but perhaps in the USA?

Britain's extradition treaty with the USA is hardly in his favour .. Will they apply to have him send there from here ....

What does the future hold?

All that is certain is that they are going to try to fuck him up big time, not just out of revenge but because they always want to make very public examples of such people, to act as a powerful deterrent against others doing similar things in future.

visa down, twitter next for a guess!
