Maybe, would someone please start another.

There are at least three threads about wikileaks... the first I think was in world politics which was right then there was one in UK politics and then one in general...

But there has not been a thread about Julian A .. which is why I started this one, so I didn't have to try to follow 3 others and post the same to each of them!

Hold on though.

That was posted 8 months before she ever met the bloke (if she actually posted it at all).

Admittedly it doesn't show her as peaches and light, but it doesn't mean she's lying does it?

Some of the girls here have posted similar stuff. Doesn't mean they're automatically lying when they shout 'rape'.

the woman has clearly stated that she believes its perfectly permisable to make false sexual assault allegations against anyone whos slighted her romantically in order to get revenge on them . Its clear she was romantically slighted by this man , and as soon as she found out she ran straight to the cops making sexual asault allegations . Allegations she apparently did not make until she found out he'd poked some other bird the same weekend .

Everything since page 5 (currently the last 7 pages) of the thread I've quoted has been about Assange, his alleged crimes in Sweden, his detention in the UK, and speculation as to various motives.

we know the evidence was looked at and then dropped, by the authorities, 3 months ago.

He had consensual sex with a split condom. (which isn't even a crime in this country, how can they extradite someone for something which isn't even a crime in this country) It isn't rape, and never has been. That was the media machine in full effect.

we only have the word of a woman who openly proclaims her belief in making false sexual assault allegations as a fitting revenge against lovers who've annoyed or been unfaithful to her for that split rubber johnny tale . Yet a man is being denied bail and up for extradition over it .

Fuck me id be getting the firing squad

And, more importantly, whether or not everyone will still view him as some sort of saviour of mankind ...

(I've got to say he doesn't strike me as someone whose wardrobe is entirely skeleton free or someone who has purely altruistic motives ... but we know very little about him yet so it remains to be seen what eventually comes out ... )

Should all witnesses in court be required to have lived a less blameless life than the defendant?

Because it really sounds like that's what you think there.

supposing hypothetically someone were wanting to join these ddos attacks, how would one hypothetically go about doing so?:hmm:

looks like the anonops.net site is down btw.

There are two women making accusations here. Both potentially flaky, but so far we only have media speculation and blog posts for 'evidence'.

If women make accusations of rape, they should be investigated. No?

I thought the first female prosecutor (from the area with the police interviews to hand) in a country that takes rape far more seriously than the UK does decided there was no case to answer.

Then another prosecutor from a different area of the country with strong political ties to the gubermint much later decided to press charges.

But hey, that's just what the Swedish locals are saying on Charles Stross's blog. Don't let that cloud the air over here.

Interesting conspiracy tidbits on the Swedish "rape" charges -

1. The original prosecutor in charge, Eva Finné, dropped the charges the same week they were made and stated they were groundless.

2. The two women who accused Assange know each other.

3. Eva Finné, was removed from the case by Claes Borgström and a new prosecutor, Marianne Ny, was appointed. Her first act was to reinstate the charges.

4. Claes Borgström's is a former politician. His law partner is Thomas Bodström. Thomas Bodström is Sweden's former Minister of Justice.

5. Thomas Bodström is currently in the USA. Let's assume he is communicating and coordinating things with his partner back in Sweden.

6. It is Swedish protocol not to release the names of people accused of rape until after a conviction. The Swedish prosecutors office claims they have "no idea" how Assange's name was leaked.

7. Normally Swedish media will not publish an accused's name until after a conviction. Swedish media is controlled by a single ruling class family named Bonnier who works closely with the local politicians to protect their media monopoly.

8. Claes Borgström's two sisters, Annette Kullenberg and Kerstin Vinterhed, both work for Bonnier family newspapers.

(In Swedish - the Swedish justice department says they did not release Assange's name and try to explain why Eva Finné was removed)

But hey, the smear's more likely to be true, yeah?

On Chanel 4 News about Wikileaks this evening a comentator discussing this made a point of say very precisely that there is a denial of service tool called a "Low Orbit Ion Canon" - I think this might tell you more about it http://sourceforge.net/projects/loic/

not just held but denied bail and apparently about to be extradited .

No, he's being held pending an extradition hearing. If the judge decides that the evidence does not amount to an extraditable offence, he won't be extradited. Furthermore, if his lawyers can successfully argue that the request is politically motivated, he won't be extradited.

What's the problem?

But hey, the smear's more likely to be true, yeah?

So the extradition request should be rejected out of hand because of what's posted on Stross's blog?

:hmm:

Nah. If being put on remand for a week with limited visiting time for lawyers is bad for one bloke, it's bad in general. So do we care, in general?

apparently human rights barrister Geoffrey Robertson QC just cut short his holiday in Sydney to fly to London and defend Mr Assange.
According to a comment from an Aussie on the BBC wikileaks page.

Will he be asked to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth in court I wonder?

There is nothing about wiki-leaks that depends on him anymore.

If he gets done for rape or whatever, the stuff exists outside of him. Make use of it - don't tie it to him.

Condi whips WikiLeaks. Condoleezza Rice politically dominates Julian Assange.

Rice for President Yahoo Group

December 3, 2010. Condoleezza Rice replies to a question by Katie Couric and one from a member of a studio audience about WikiLeaks.

Condolezza Rice said:
I think what has happened is a crime. It is up to the Justice Department to figure out exactly what crime it is but it's got to be prosecuted and punished or it's going to keep happening and I hope the penalty is really severe because maybe that will deter this kind of behaviour.

The United States cannot exist in a world where we can't share information within the government with the expectation that is somehow going to end up on the front pages of newspapers. You can't do business that way. So I hope it is prosecuted and prosecuted severely.

The event was organised by the Council on Foreign Relation for their HBO History Makers Series.

Wikileaks - Heroes, Villains, Other?

My answer "Villains", right now, primarily because Condoleezza Rice as my choice for world leader says so.

If, as the Independent says, this is a fight between WikiLeaks and the machine, I am siding with the machine.

I, at least, know the value of discipline and loyalty to the leaders of the free world, whereas it seems Assange and WikiLeaks want to make the headlines irrespective of outcome - sometimes doing good, sometimes risking danger to others.

WikiLeaks is too anarchic right now and Condi should be supported as and when she decides to crack the whip on them.

As Condoleezza Rice, who is, in my opinion anyway, the leader of the free world, precisely promotes freedom and human dignity for all the people in the world therefore WikiLeaks should be more careful to take their lead from her.

I think WikiLeaks needs a new management ethos and organisation hierarchy which works with Condi and her staff at the US State Department (or ex-staff but you know what I mean).

If Assange and WikiLeaks come to order, give an undertaking to toe the line and generally work with "the machine" then maybe Condi will be less severe in the punishments she is looking for.

Generally it is the best advice to appease Condi and give her what she is asking for, most times anyway. The "New World Order" is not an Imperial dictatorship but the world does need a president and it should be Condi, not Assange.

Peter, you are extraordinarily deluded.

Sorry, I don't mean that in a nasty way, but you don't appear to be able to see how your personal prejudices warp your worldview.
