Why does society not trust women?

I'm not sure society trusts men that much either. Let's face it...they are pretty much responsible for every frigging war and resulting horrors.
You may not have meant this entirely seriously, but I personally never think it's a constructive view, as it lets a significant chunk of society off the hook entirely. The same applies to 'religion is responsible for' and a host of other things.

Ultimately, people are responsible for atrocities. None of us are blameless, none of us are off the hook.

I don`t think people trust their own senses TBH.

sorry that sounds dismissive of the topic.. didn`t mean it like that.

Ive been part of a few `social experiments` where communities try to redefine the social make-up or let it return to a `natural` balance. Women usually end up in powerful management positions... unless there is violence used as a political tool then the violent men and manipulative women do well.
I saw a David Attenborough doc about these chimps that had only just started to eat meat. The social politics could be seen in transition between a female managed society(women would select their mate) to a male dominated society because the males had more muscle mass and were better suited to hunting and killing.... which gave rise to an aggressive male dominated tribe of chimps.

Maybe men don`t trust women because they don`t want to relinquish their power, which on some level they know they will loose if they don`t keep dominating.

Obviously, there's patriarchy and all and men siding with one another.

Obvious in what way?

And, since you are claiming something to be obvious that isn’t, why shouldn’t your trustworthiness be evaluated?

None of this answers Cloo's question in the op.
What question? The Op invited thoughts. However, if the question was: “Why do people assume (some) women lie and manipulate” in the context of an argumentum ad populum fallacy invoking feminism's falsifiable and manipulative “patriarchy” claim, then 9 referenced statistics falsifying the claim and revealing the manipulativeness of it might reasonably be considered an answer.

only if by answer you mean response. You might have put up the number of parking tickets men and women get, the proportion of women in library staff, etc - you still wouldn't be addressing the points she's making.

I might have, but then those would have been your thoughts rather than mine. It’s not clear what point you are making - that I don’t think the same way you do?

What the fuck is this shit?
Well, mostly it looks like some cherry-picked statistics in the form of pie charts that show that men suffer much worse than women and that women get all the help. Although why we are supposed to get worked up that more women have attended/will attend/are attending university than men (it's a bit of a grey area, ironically, amongst all the black and white) is beyond me.

But yes *sigh* we are educated once again about the patriarchy. Our own experiences mean nothing, the man is right once again etc. Thank goodness you're here to teach us etc etc.

A simple point - you think you've responded meaningfully to Cloo but you've just chucked up a load of whataboutery bollocks

You were a stupid sexist pig when you graced us with your presence before and you're no different now

Spanish joke:

A man walks into a pet shop:
'I want to buy a dog'
'Let me show you our range. This is one of our best dogs. She understands four languages and can perform many problem-solving activities. €5000'
'Ooh that's a lot. What have you got that's more modestly priced?'
'This one understands three languages. She's very good with the other dogs. €3000'
'Still a lot. What about that balding one?'
'Oh he doesn't understand simple instructions and is generally useless. €10,000'
'Why so much?'
'Well, he's their boss'

I think its because of childbirth. Men are intimidated by pregnancy and childbirth. I think a lot of horror films are partly about this fear. Also most men have a more immediate reaction to a naked woman. This can also be intimidating and lead to mistrust. Women have a power without doing anything and it may be easier for men to blame them for it. Also I think in the past women were seen as incapable because of PMT. There are fundamental differences and I don't think it's a just a case of men trying to assert their power to reduce their fear. Gentle men also may have a mistrust of women even if they don't admit to it.

Guess it's been a major force for gaslighting women too, thus handy for any men wanting to dismiss a woman's concerns as just jealousy, 'irrational dislike' etc.

Females have been gaslighted for millenium. But unfortunately the gaslighting has worked a treat and today there are many females and males that continue to perpetuate these negative stereotypes of females in general. It's called misogyny and females can be misogynistic too.

Latest research shows that 70% of males have an unconscious bias against females, but even more startling, is that 80% of females also have an "unconscious" bias against other females. Go figure.
