Where are you on the transport network?

As everyone on this thread loves an airport lounge, here’s a fairly exclusive one at Heathrow T3…

It’s busy as the airport’s very busy Friday evening first day of the school holidays…

Decent lounge, Amstel and Moretti on tap at the manned bar, lovely selection of food. Would recommend

I didn’t know Amex had their own lounges. Do they let in any first/ business class passengers of any airline who don’t have a metal Amex card?

I meant to post this while in Laos obviously, but I've just been sent a story from the Laotian Times which has prompted me. The story is about out of control fires in Laos as farmers burn their fields and the toxic haze it is causing. And how it is affecting even Chang Rai in Thailand.

When I left it was terrible, I just didn't know at the time what was causing it and thought it was some sort of weather phenomenon.

So here's a rather eerie looking Luang Prabang railway station.

And this was my last view of the Mekong in Luang Prabang (the Mekong is definitely on the transport system)

There are tall mountains in that picture. Except you can't see them.

Left Laos with an appalling cough by the way.

now home in berkshire about 1.20 am, having broken down on surrey bit of the M25 some time round 9pm

involved highways people sending a recovery vehicle to get me out of the way (fortunately it was just after the roadworks bit so there was a hard shoulder i could get on to) - they took me to cobham services, then RAC man in van came and agreed it wasn't fixable at the roadside, then got recovery vehicle from there.

considering it was evening of bank holiday, could have been worse.

front offside spring broken (i think i went over a bit of a bump or something but spring must have been tired) and tyre is showing signs of going soft but didn't go bang

blaaaaargh
