What's for tea tonight?

I've had a change of plan - Mr K has spent all day being sent hither and yon on messed-up trains and is going to arrive home very tired and fed up, so I reckon something hale and hearty like bangers and mash is on the cards tonight. With beer. Definitely beer.

I've just prepared my home made Shepherd's Pie. It just needs to be popped in the oven for 20 minutes to finish it off.

I'm quite hungry now but my Good Lady Wife doesn't get home from work until about 20 past seven. :(

did pasta with veg and cheese for the kids.

i've got a jar of peppers stuffed with cheese, am trying to work out a way of turning it into a meal. i might blitz it into a sauce and have it with pasta.

I had plans for real food, good food, but this came to naught when I realised I didn't have the energy to leave the house, so it's roasted chicken thighs with garlic butter over them, and bread and butter :D

Bit of a buffet thingy going on here.

Cheese and tomato quiche, cold ham and turkey, quail's eggs, new potatoes and salad. There's talk of some sort of meat pie being involved, too.

Not entirely sure how it's gonna turn out, tbh ...

My daughter isnt coming home for a couple of days now so bday tea has been replaced with a bowl of angel delight  couldnt be bothered to cook and the boys are eating out.

hmm, blending cheese stuffed peppers results in a yucky chewy mess. now i remember why that jar had been left so long :D

going to have crisps and beer instead

I'm beginning to worry about you :(

Last night I had shallow fried smoked haddock, sweet potato mash with loooots of butter and spinach and cucumber salad :)

Tonight - rosemary lamb cutlets, more mash, veg kebabs.

I'm starving!!

im just contemplating what to cook tonight. at home i've got lots of tomatoes, one sweet potato, a couple of normal potatoes, quite a few mushrooms and a few peppers. any ideas...

dinner - dunno yet. any suggestions? i have chicken thighs, and loads of spices and rice.
if you have some cheese and vegetables you can make a cheesy chicken rice casserole. Any green veggie will work like brocolli or peas or green beans and what not.

Cook all the items seperatedly then mix chicken, veggie and rice in a casserole dish and add cheese. The throw in oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese and voila!

on the other hand you could also make chicken curry and serve over boiled rice :D

yeah i have cheese and veggies.
i don't cook western cuisines that often but do you need a casserole dish to cook casseroles (is this a stupid question??). can i use a baking type tray instead?

boing - Veg curry, using the tomatoes as the base for the sauce (along with onion, spices, garlic, ginger, coriander and coconut milk) ?

ooh- good idea. got some ginger that needs using up as well i think. :)

any dish that can be put in the oven will work. the less shallow the better.

I read that as somethingwithmice

Not sure what for tea tonight - I might get Mr K to cook, while I recline with a beer.

Wholemeal pasta with a tomato and mushroom sauce/chicken breast stuffed with garlic/savoy cabbage. All with no fat as Mrs C is trying to get a bit of weight off me!

anyone eat egg, bean & toast for dinner? we eat it all the time over here for breakfast but when I tell americans about it they are like "WTF, beans on egg?!"

must be our english influence :D
