i love CBH but few know how to make it correctly....

i chopped two carrots and three potatoes, and an onion into big chunks. Softened the lot in butter on a low heat for for 10 mins. Poured over water and boiled on low heat for 20 mins. Wrestled open the tin of corned beef. Washed gaping wound from hand (just kidding). Added corned beef at end and cooked slowly for another 10 mins.

it was absolutely delicious.

there are lots of variations - delia smith has a recipe online that is what her husband eats in New York for breakfast. My regional variation is Cumbria.

nothing with the puff pastry that was in the fridge. No sir! that was mouldy as all hell.

so the pastry filling was served over pasta.
humfph.

Well we didn't have steak last night because I went to the pub so I picked up some chips on the way home.

Will try again today. :)

I've got no food in and I'm going away for a couple of days tomorrow so shopping seems a bit pointless.

It might be fish and chips, then.

That's probably for the best. :D

Haha! :D

We're having trout with courgette/potato/feta cakes and green beans.

And the rest of the meringues for pudding, with more blackberries and double cream, obviously!

Btw sparklefish - I reckon Waitrose ones would be more or less the same.

Certainly not different enough to ruin your Eton mess, either way! :D

Fresh prawns cooked in my brand new wok, nut oil, chilli, spring onions, garlic and ginger.

Treated myself to a new wok as we are trying to eat more chinese to save money without resorting to manufactured foods.

This week we bought just plain veg and meat, absolutely nothing premade, it's got nothing to do with olympics (I only watched the BMX) it's just that I find it a good and easy way to eat healthy and cheap. Value rice, lots of dried noodle, I don't add salt and use reduced soy.

I fed my wife like this when she was pregnant heh

I have some frozen indian food. I also have a few slices of dominos (pepperoni, sausage, onion). Or I could get Burger King. Or maybe some combo of the three.

I don't know, its only 3:30p here

The nephs are away, so I nuked leftovers from last night's curry debauch for The Albatross and me. I made way too much, as always.

Last night I made egg fried rice for the first time ever, and it was right nice. There's still tons of it, obviously, so that's my lunch sorted. We are going out for food tonight since this baby still hasn't made any signs of shifting.

Tesco's pepperoni pizza, 'stonebaked' (yeh right) garlic bread, and green salad. After the bottle of red I'm just about to launch into anyway

It was going to be pork sausages with braised red cabbage (premade supermarket stuff) but when I took the sleeve off the 'cabbage' it turned out to be something that looks and smells like curried cauliflower. How weird is that. I fucking hate cauliflower.

My Wok broke, I took it back today and quite frankly I'm sick to death of chinese food.

Still on the no pack regime thou and having jackets and cheese with a grilled chicken breast (just one its priced like gold)
