What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Ooh, got some mushrooms in the fridge so could have toast with butter fried mushrooms for breakfast tomorrow - thanks for the idea.

I could live off mushrooms fried in butter. Or least until my arteries clogged up...
Me too. In face we are having butter and garlic fried mushrooms with a little cream cheese stirred through for breakfast tomorrow.
Tea tonight was king brawn balti with lime, coriander and chilli rice with spring onions, broc, asparagus and French beans stir fried into it.

Eaten from the pan?

2 days til payday so I've just checked the freezer/fridge. We have some jerk chicken drumsticks that apparently need 12 hours to defrost so they're out.

So, Chinese style pork ribs, chorizo, 3 bags of corn on the cob and some other frozen veg.

Might grab some rice or wedges and have the ribs, corn and might just fry the chorizo with a pepper too.

Save the frozen veg for epic roast tomorrow.

There are also 2 boxes of vimto lollies so that's pudding sorted.

Dinner-based disaster last night. :(

I was looking forward to cooking tea all day - sad as it sounds, my day was a bit rubbish and I was cheering myself up with the thoughts of making a fancy pastry tart, having a glass of wine, and chilling.

So I made a really lovely goats' cheese tart with shopped red peppers, prosciutto ham and fresh thyme. It looked mint. I liked it so much I took a photo of it.

I took it out of the oven to cool down but left it on top of the hob. It's an induction hob that doesn't 'glow' when heated - totally forgot I'd had the hob on- walked out of the room to let the tart cool and when I came back the oven dish was broken and smoking and the tart ruined :mad:

I then consoled myself with some wine and remembered why I don't drink white wine as I vommed all over the garden :(

Maybe I'll try a new tart again today. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY, WE CAN REBUILD

Atta girl!

Broccoli cheese and black eye peas, possibly with a big deal.

Blimey idumea!! Reminds me of the time I put a full bowl of just-ready macaroni cheese onto the glass window of the grill...and it fell straight through. Macaroni cheese EVERYWHERE and covered in shards of broken glass :rolleyes::mad: I stood there for a full minute just staring at it in shock.

Anyhoo, got smashed last night and didn't get hungry at all, so am a little delicate today. Cheeseburgers and chips for tea!!

One of my students did this on Thursday- pizza on try on the job which was still on (the fault of another student) he looked so very crestfallen when he found out the bottom was burnt so I can imagine your face :(

Tonight for the first time ever I have treated us to rump steak (which the fella went and ruined by commenting on the price, as if he knows how much anything costs, the rotter!) oven chips, broccoli and maybe some peas too.

Mini magnum and shouting at Tess daly for pudding.

Too lazy to cook another tart today. :( Instead I'm having takeaway:

- hot and sour soup
- kung po chicken
- stir fried broccoli in ginger

Steak (lean frying), stoved potatoes, some kind of spicy dressing with chilli and coriander, fried mushrooms (but not too much butter) and maybe some radish/onion salad.

I will be requiring help in the kitchen due to a hangover headache that will not budge :hmm::mad::(

Probably baked potato and hotpot.
Annoyingly I appear to have lost any sense of taste at the moment so perhaps I ought to try something spicy ...

Didn't see them - lots of Hula Hoop flavours and those McCoys crinkle cut ones.
Nowt wrong with a bit of orange oven tea wrongness every now and then
Behold!
