What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Roast lamb, boulangere potatoes, corrots and cavolo nero. I'm starving but our neighbour is coming at 7pm to borrow a mask, an item of military clothing, a leather jacket and some tweed. We have to wait until he's gone before we eat. (we haven't got a mask and I don't know why he thinks we would have)

After the frozen/potato/HulaHoop snack I did a useshituppasta for dinner.

Some Poundland fusilli pasta cooked in a ham stock.

A large tomato, half a leek, garlic, handful of spinach, dash of Encona and 200g of Stilton that was best before 19/09. All blanched and mixed in with the hammy stock pasta.

Delicious

I really want a roast, especially Shirl's with those potatoes.

But, tonight is chilli, runner beans and a big hunk of baguette.

Last night had freezer foraged beef and mushroom stroganoff with mash and runner beans :)

That looks great, miss direct! I love baba ganoush, though it went horribly wrong when I tried to make it some time ago. :(

The moussaka was absolutely delish - I was a bit doubtful about the recipe because apart from salt and pepper there's only one other spice used, but it's amazing how much this one cinnamon stick infuses the whole dish. Had no ricotta so replaced with cottage cheese and that worked fine.

Inspired/reminded me to try and make a bobotie soon. Biddlybee - didn't we have plans a few years ago for a bobotie cook off? Or was it whoever'd get round to making it first would invite the other round? Maybe I can make and bring round to yours sometime this autumn.

Still haven't eaten...boyfriend decided he'd prefer to go out drinking with his friend than come home to a nice dinner. Lost my appetite now :(

:(

Is this the same guy you had issues with before?
Or am I misremembering people?

Yeah...
I ate anyway. It was nice. I never really bother to cook properly when it's just me.
Clearly my cooking (and me) aren't good enough motivations to come home.

Aw miss direct, that sucks! Maybe you can celebrate your badass ganoush making skillz by tucking into it anyway, knowing the urbs teatime thread is there with you in spirit? Hope your appetite returns. x

Totes this x

I told him to stay at his friend's house as he is clearly more interested in him than me...
there's no way I can eat all the chilli....I'm guessing the cats outside won't want it because of the spices?
