What's for tea tonight? (#8)

sounds (and looks!) yum, but no garlic and/ or ginger in there? Spring onions wouldnt add a strong enuff flavour perhaps. Dont mind me tho....:)

I was thinking same.... 4-5 cloves of garlic & 2" piece of ginger in with the chicken boil, some 5 spice and a good dash of chilli
.... but thats just me :)

I could offer a number of curry recipes, but they all (but one) rely upon the making of a curry base gravy.

If your willing to make (& freeze portions) IMHO its certainly the way to go.
Once the curry base gravy is made, making a final dish is relatively quick and easy.

Have a look at some of the restaurant videos ... http://www.youtube.com/user/h4ppyleader/videos
Yep happy to make the base properly :) will have a watch of the videos x

Urgh urgh...hung the fuck over. Was going to only have a few, and eat early. Got into really interesting conversations about the political set up in Switzerland though, with the lad, and before we knew it it was 10 o fucking clock and we hadn't eaten. I've got to do a full day's work, and then go and strip for strangers later

No fucking idea what to have for tea. Something that doesn't make me want to fart too much would be handy.

kittyP That looks amazing!!!

I didn't get home until late last night but the gf had cooked a spicy stir fry and to my great surprise had also made a chocolate, syrup and walnut tart! First time she's made one and it was fucking delicious!

Milk's great -If I'm drying out off the drink and I've got that terrible anxiety like a solid cannonball of adreneline or raw dread in me stomach - Well, a nice cold ice cold pint of milk goes some way to soothing it.
I love it too but with every meal? Pass the defibrillators!
I shouldn't talk. I eat way too much meat and butter.

My brother drinks about 4 pints of milk a day. Four motorcycle crashes later and he's still not broken a single bone. Would be cheaper to keep a cow in the back garden :D

I've been volunteered to cook for mates tomorrow as flatmate is too shit/lazy to do it himself.
One of them is one of those fussy eaters who claims they are wheat and dairy intolerant.
Wanted to do that Mexican bungalow pie but it has cheese on top.
It has to be quick as well, as they are coming over way too early.

What shall I make? Is non-wheat pasta edible?

Can't you just make the pie and only put cheese on half of it?
You could create some kind of 'cheese defence' with tomatoes or something

Last night my friend cooked me rice and peas in coconut milk/stock with chorizo. It was delicious. :)

.

hope you dont mind me asking, what are you stripping for?:)

Raining here and miserable - spaghetti and homemade sauce made from fried sausages and onions and tinned tomatoes (with garlic). Will add herbs, red wine and balsamic, tasting as I go along. Extra mature cheddar (and no wine for me, as I am working).:(

I thought about adding garlic but the stock cubes are soooo strong and spicy that I thought it a waste to be honest. They def have garlic in them.
It is a not a dish for ginger.

I didn't know you could get Tom Yum stock cubes, I just buy the paste. Maybe I'm walking past them every day here. :hmm:

We went to the canteen for tea and I had celery with slivers of beef, egg and tomato, and cauliflower and carrots cooked in Chinese curry powder. It was a million times better than last time.

To be honest, I think I'm going to have to hide 'yes peas'. Peas are OK, but I don't want them for EVERY meal.

What about squeezy cheezy peaz?
