What's for tea tonight? (#8)

How do you make it? (cannot find on google)
I dunno. I have just started it.
Gonna give it a Mexican flavour with chipotle.
Anyone know the Spanish for calfherd? And pie?
Browning the meat now with some fried onions and chipotle. Will add a jar or two of Sacal chili pesto, mushroom, some lamb stock and top with mashed potato, chopped baby leeks and Parmesan.
Might be a disaster but could be lush

It was FUCKING LUSH

Pie. I'm going to get a pie. It's been far too long....

Mind you the last time I went to get one the little indicators on the front were all red, the sat fat content was 102% of an adults daily recommended intake :hmm: hmm....

Last night:

The meat from a rotisserie chicken, plus a squeezed lemon, cooked in a pan with tomatoes, spinach, peas, spices and a load of greek yoghurt. Served with pasta. More lemon juice squeezed over.

The remains of the chicken carcass were boiled for a couple of hours to make broth/stock...with lemon, loads of ginger, lemongrass, garlic and spring onion. And the tiniest pinch of my birthday saffron. I can feel an incipient cold coming on. Hopefully this will ward it off.

Still a bit queasy after the whole family went down with a vomiting bug. Had to avoid this thread cos too many mentions of curry & we were still trying to get the littluns tarka dal out of the carpet which she projectile vomited from the top of her bunk bed

Going to try huevos rancheros & hope for the best, communal vom bucket under the table :D

I need some good curry recipes - I made 3 different ones on Friday and I wasn't that fussed about any of them!

Tonight is going to be a pasta bake thing, nice and simple and the sauce is bubbling away in my slow cooker as I type

Keema (mince) & mixed veg korma tonight, with optional naan breads or spuds.

BTW this is using a jar of Anila's korma sauce (you add up to a jarful of water plus whatever veg and meat or fish), which happens to be onionfree but also only uses ingredients which you'd have in a well stocked kitchen. It also tastes relatively authentic.

We went to the dodgy ceiling place (the ceiling is caving in and covered with mould and damp) in the village for tea. We had celery with cashew nuts, roasted flesh with bay leaves, and special chips which taste uncannily like Burger King chips but have been stir-fried with chilli and cumin.

Blimey ringo! Hope you're all feeling very much better very soon!

We've got the fella's son round for his tea toneet. He's been working away for 6 months and got firsts for all his MA stuff so celebrating

Wiiiine for us, lager for the lad, Moroccan meatballs and spicy couscous, and some kinda cake for afters

Hope you're all back to full health asap, ringo and crew!

I have some chicken breasts defrosted in the fridge ready to do chicken kebabs with *something*...and some asparagus that needs using but I don't know if I can even be arsed to do that much :hmm: ....so I might just do southern style chicken fillet burgers in rolls with mayo and lettuce for the kids and have a bowl of museli myself :-/ and deal with the kebabs and that tomorrow.
Have got them banoffee pots from work for pudding, either way.

Got a mate coming for dinner so it's roast lamb, roast potatoes, runner beans and carrots, followed by lemon meringue

Confession time - I am a 36 year old woman and this is the first time I have made a roast dinner on my own from start to finish  Anyway, it was the fucking bollocks so I am a winner :D

Tonight, either the leftovers from the roast, or leftover chilli from Monday. Probably the latter, as I can have the lamb in a sarnie for my lunch tomorrow :)

Well done cc! :D
I decided it was the chopping and skewering and grilling that I REALLY couldn't be arsed with so I've pulled my finger out and put the two whole chicken breasts in the oven in some olive oil/garlic salt/sage/black pepper with some crinkle cut oven chips and will do the asparagus too.
My son is looking more and more likely to have to eat his cold mind cos they had a half day today and he's not back yet and isn't answering his phone  but that's no skin off my nose, tbf!
