What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Brown basmati rice, fried pilchards in tomato sauce (brain food), buttered rainbow chard with garlic. It was really tasty.

I'm making schupfnudeln with roasted butternut squash (yay - squash/pumpkin season!), roast garlic and goats cheese... special treat for the boy after the gym.

Chorizo, chickpea and vegetable casserole. With fruit crumble afterwards - not sure if I'm going to make one myself or buy a pre-made one.

It was Bangface this weekend so all I've really consumed for the last few days has been...questionable :D. I want veg and healthy things now.

This has been updated to spicy fish stew - I saw a lovely bit of cod loin in the shops, which is now marinading in the fridge in a mix of sweet chili marinade, fish jerk spices, garlic, sugar and a tiny bit of lemongrass paste. Hopefully it won't taste like a weird mess. Into the stew will also go sliced chorizo, tomato and basil, red and yellow peppers, black eyed peas, coconut milk, spinach and spicy couscous. I'm looking forward to this.

I completely forgot to buy a crumble but got home to find my housemate in the finishing stages of making one to share. WINNING.

I've had two quite nerve-wracking things happen today and it's amazing how much focusing on this evening's cooking has brought me out of worrying...good cooking is so healthy on several levels:cool:

Liver, garlic, mushrooms, onions, sage, two tins of mixed beans and a tin of tomatoes, cooked all day in the slow cooker.
Fandabidozi.

Wow!

I am having a low calorie hot chocolate as I am fasting and had a prawn salad for lunch.

I am dreaming of my cooking exploits for tomorrow.
I think I will give the veggie lentil moussaka a go but no aubergine and sliced fried flat cap mushrooms in their place.
Hmmm mm dribbly dreams.

Sundays tea was fried polenta slices with tomato sauce, spinach and cheese. Yum. Just having the leftovers for lunch.
Tonight's dinner will probably be cheapo noodle soup, unless my housemate pulls something out of the bag.

Fuck me, forgot how nice that soupy stew is - just had more for me lunch

Anyhoo, our lass had a load of spare bread rolls, and I've got bacon left over from the weekend, so me and her are on bacon and egg barms, and the fella's on egg and cheese ones :)

Tonight, I'm cooking a meat meal for the first time in ages. I'm going to make a bolognaise or a chilli depending on what I fancy when I get in.

We had spicy chicken and salad wraps last night and more Oreo cornets for pudding (they're LOVELY and were still on half price offer in Tesco so I bought three more packs :D ).
Just me and my boy tonight and I didn't want to waste the rest of the wraps but I forgot to buy more salad leaves, so today at work I was pondering on whether steam fried sprouts would go in a wrap :hmm: but my mate said defo not :D so I nicked a couple of salads and will split one of those and stick in in with some mayo and some sliced breaded fish fillets....like a posh fishfinger sarnie

Lemon curd yogurt for pudding.
