What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We had shoulder of lamb done in the slow cooker, which my mum gave to me a few months ago and I completely forgot that we had. It was bloody good. The lamb was reduced in Tesco to about £2.

I really hope this is a lovely thing because I want to know what it is and where I get one
(Don't say Vilnius :D)
Erm, Vilnius! Or some air port in Lithuania at least, sorry!
It was shorter and more conical than the picture but essentially that.
It is also more biscuit than cake.
Sadly no gin :(

He doesn't like cauliflower.

I keep meaning to make just broccoli cheese instead.

I know it's not the same as homemade but sainsburys do a bag of cauli cheese which isn't bad. You can stick a bit in a small dish for you.

Cottage pie for us tonight. We haven't had it for ages, perfect rainy day comfort food.

Nice and simple roast chicken. Going to do some sauteed leeks and mushrooms, green leaf salad and quick pan gravy with the chicken juices.

Or she could come round mine? :hmm: :) I have a cauli which will be turned into cauli and broccoli cheese some time this week.

Not tonight though, I'm still pissed off my chicken was so crap, so tonight I'm having some posh cheaty filled pasta, maybe with some mushrooms added :D

I've got a big chicken breast I need to throw in something....

Pasta, curry (hmm...not sure after last time), salad, erm, roast with veg (smonday dinner), or made into a pie.. Liking the sound of the pie but I've never made one before. Might check my cookbooks :)

Basically the leftovers from the weeend....we have 2 pork sausages, some tomato sauce left over from making pizzas, half a ball of mozzarella, some rosemary and a handful of mushrooms....combine with pasta!

Sure you want to be chewing something so soon idumea ? ;)

Well, I made a stonking tea last night - baby spuds roasted in olive oil, with garlic, quartered onions, and rosemary. We had them with veggie farmhouse pies, broccoli, cauli cheese, peas and gravy, nommmmm.

Tonight the fella is off out so is having a defrosted mushroom stoup with bread probably, and I'll be making a vast pot of skint soup/stew. Lentils, black eye beans, onions, garlic, tin toms, farfalline, quorn chicken, thyme, rosemary, bayleaf, mushroom ketchup, carrots, celery, leftover baby spuds, and owt else I can find to chuck in!

Crumble and casserole are quite gentle on the jaw...

I remember one of my post-comedown 'teas' being just a tin of sweetcorn :D

Tonight we're having use-up curry, since I have to return the borrowed pestle and mortar PDQ and we have vast quantities of veg softening in the fridge.

My own take on a beef stifado, no brisket I have used casserole steak, lots of shallots, will be cooked for bout three and half hours very slowly.
Will serve with carrots, green beans and small roast potatoes.
A Choccy cornetto for desert.

Spicy sausage pasta thing that I'm sort of making up as I go along.

Some nice sausages, red onions, peppers, shitloads of garlic, a healthy whack of jalapenos, a couple of cherry tomatoes and a few sun-dried ones all fried in the sun-dried tomato oil. Couple of tins of tomatoes to go in in a minute and then served up on some penne pasta in about half an hour.

Currently can't decide whether to bung the pasta in with the sauce or not when it's cooked, a dilemma I frequently have.
