What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Will have to be something quick as I have to go to a rehearsal later. Maybe some sort of pasta with bacon and olives, or a risotto with left overs from yesterdays roast

We had lemon chicken, beef with rice noodles, aubergine cooked in a clay pot and broccoli. Then we went for Hong Kong mango dessert and had green tea flavoured glutinous rice paste (like in mochi) rolled in coconut shavings, wrapped around mango and whole grain red rice.

We just had our last meal before our holiday (therefore the last meal I will actually cook, outside of bread and cheese type stuff, for two whole weeks...woohooooooo! :D )....it was a bit fucking rank, tbf :D
I did homemade wedges, so parboiled a baking potato then broke it into smaller bits with two forks and stuck it into some oil/garlic/thyme this morning (so ahead of the cooking time, as I often do) but the potatoes had gone quite brown/black by the time I cooked them...they didn't taste too bad but they looked a bit yucky :D then breaded cod for myself and my son and fishfingers for the girl and some tenderstem broccoli, which was quite severely under cooked for a start  but also tasted horrible  so we scrapped that altogether.
Anyway, whatever, it filled a hole I suppose :hmm:

Gravy :hmm:

Juices from the chicken
Shallots from inside the chicken
Little chicken stock
Tarragon
Black pepper
Flour to thicken

Anything else to add? We have some red wine but that does not really work.

Crap food special for me today. Just had a Greggs cheese and onion pasty, and will have a cheese ploughman's sandwich from there a bit later. Cheese and onion pasty - fatty carb heaven.

I am more of a veggie pasty girl (salty baby food mush flw) but Greggs pasties rock.

yesterday was lemon chicken and broccoli stirfry with cashew nuts. Got paid the highest compliment from the MIL who said "it smells like a restaurant in here" when she was returning the boy.

Pork loin medallions, braised with red capsicum, onions, mushrooms, tomato, cayenne pepper, paprika, turmeric, garlic, mixed herbs & lemon juice.
Served with chips!

Badgers gravy was lush as was the whole meal :)

Green bean, ham fragment, and tomato quiche of slight fail - the lard was too warm and I was too stressed.

It was going to be new potatoes with beans or something, but I put the spuds in a plastic bowl in the combi oven and chose "baked potatoes" ... instead of just wacking them with the microwave.

So it's now Aldi microwave noodles eaten out of the bag...

I put the recycling out this morning in the wrong bin.

That sounds interesting 8115 was it a throw it all I the pan job or following a recipe?

We had salmon fillets baked with garlic, ginger, soy and chilli and veggie fried rice. It was surprisingly delicious it as always with "healthy dinners" I still feel a bit hungry afterwards :D
Lemon yoghurt for pudding.
