What's for tea tonight? (#8)

we ended up having a really nice and tasty pumpkin barley risotto on Saturday night  then failed last night and got a piggy thai takeaway (delivered with 2 beers :D)

tonight will be something bursting with veggie goodness!

Yesterday we had roast chicken, roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, cabbage and gravy. We had a veggie friend visiting so I did a puy lentil, mushroom and chilli halloumi bake for him which was lovely, and I've got the leftovers for lunch today

Tea tonight is a pasta bake with leftover roast chicken and some pepperoni that needed using up.
Already assembled and sitting in the fridge so it'll just need bunging in the oven when I get home.

I made a roast for 10 yesterday.

Leg of lamb, a chicken, tatties, carrots, parsnips, cabbage and bacon, greens and broccoli with garlic, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puds and 3 pints of gravy including all the pan and resting juices.

Just got some bacon out of the freezer for a quick creamy spicy bacon lemon peas pasta dish to scoff between the wadrobe construction but reading someones dinner on the previous page I realise I've missed the opportunity to eat foods which we can't have when the tiddlers here and now I want egg fried rice and chicken satay. Grrrr....

Steak. Rosemary potatoes. Broccoli. Mushroom. Wine.

Rescheduled from last night which turned into cheese omelette and broccoli.

I've made a bit of a booboo...after being tormented by NVP  I got a chinese yesterday on the grounds that my daughter wouldn't be here for dinner tonight either so that my son and I could still eat the king prawn/mussel/veg/noodle soup I had planned for last night originally (she won't eat seafood  )...but now it looks like she WILL be, along with her friend....argh...might have to break out the beans on toast for them, as per

Apple and blackcurrant FABs for pudding.

We had chicken tikka massala pizza from the takeaway. I couldn't be arsed cooking :D
I usually can't be arsed driving into town!!

I had a chicken tikka pizza once, it was disgusting! Worst pizza evah :( Wrongness on several levels. Still, whatever flaps your flag etc ;)

I am having made-by-my-mum lamb casserole with mash :) And booze and cake!

Was thinkin last night about the bakers shop in fleetwood near were ya get ferry ta knotts end and they used ta do the best corned beef sarnies ever. They had right big chunks of raw onion on em and i used ta travel from little bispham on tram just ta buy em. Gonna attempt ta recreate em fer tonites tea.

Hope your sarnie lives up to your memories of them, avu!

Just me and my boy tonight and I am overloaded with potatoes so think we're going to have baked spuds again (he loves them, so no bad thing) with cheese and a big old salad. Melon for pudding.

Well as we weren't together yesterday and both offline, we shall be celebrating toneet with sparkly wine, and perhaps a takeaway (Chinese I reckon )

I have mouth/tooth issues right now, so had a super healthy dinner last night (for once). Chicken soup (made from chicken bones) with a mass of added vegetables.
Tonight I've got a turkey breast de-frosting, so that. Hope I can chew it ok :hmm::(

Aw...sorry about the tooth stuff, Hellsbells :( ....hope you manage to get your dinner down you ok!

Change of plan here....errrrr...perhaps :hmm:

I've taken a big hunk of cooked lamb out of the freezer so, if it defrosts etc :D I'm going to make a shepherds pie  with green beans and sugar snaps to go with it.

Canteen for tea. I didn't choose super wisely today and it was a bit plain tasting. Had spinach, cabbage and tomato, and yardlong beans. With brown rice.

How long were the beans?

I've hacked away at the lamb and it'll be fine....phew!
Got onions, garlic and carrots cooked and ready to add to the browned lamb and some rosemary to bubble away for a bit with some gravy, mash is done, have a tomato/veg sauce cooking ready to blend for freezing and have done an oaty crumble topping to go on top of a couple of nectarines that need using for our pudding (with either custard or clotted cream ice cream).

And NOW I am having some wine (delayed celebrations)! :D

Aaaaaaaand another menu change  nectarines were NOT good...so I've taken out some frozen forest fruits (which will turn to mush) and a couple of apples (not bramleys, so which will ALSO turn to mush)... :D
