What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We're making pizza tonight.
There will be a choice of toppings including pepperoni, chilli halloumi, mushrooms, red pepper, asparagus and olives.

I do too if I can find a decent kebab house. Which means hardly ever cuz there are none in the vicinity of Brixton (or work for that matter).
worth a trip up green lanes. never eat kebab unless im down there visiting! so much choice. and the delis are grand too.

Chorizo hash and crusty bread for dinner. This needs to shift todays hangover and get me ready for cocktail boozing tonight. : )

Chicken, hacked up to remotely similar sized chunks, in a roasting tray with chunks of potatoes, onions, parsnips, carrots, garlic and turnips/swedes (delete according to your naming preference) then I added ground ginger and ground coriander seed and ground cumin and a few cardomom pods and fennel seeds and black mustard seeds and a squirt of lemon juice and a dollop of oil and mixed it all up
It's in the oven now, on a low temperature to cook for the rest of today and the smell is driving me round the boody twist. I might actually have to go out, to stop me attacking it before time.

I've got a whole chicken that needs defrosting and similar treatment tomorrow.

lard :(

last night i went to wetherspoons for 'fish friday'. Their servings are MASSIVE and i felt oily and greasy and wrong inside after. It was really nice though :D:cool: I was quite suprised.

lard, delicious fat!

yeah the marg/lard combo is a long standing one but i wonder if it can be adapted in the 'olivio' era to be less foccussed on artery clogging saturated fats?

innit, pork pies - yumm!
i like fried bread in lard too. only occasionally mind.
i recently bought 2 melton mowbrays from the shop (they were discounted) and they are fantastic. i bought 2 more just now. i have long avoided pork pies but probably cos ma bought cheap crap ones.

yeah, they have to be hot. with cold ones the middle - a sort of pink hockey puck - falls out and its unpleasant. what about gravy on em tho?

i never thought to eat them hot til i tried that on. i always eat them cold.
i wouldn't bother with gravy as the melted jelly serves well enough.

its the jelly melting that makes em palatable. i was having a chat with me lass and we agreed that anything 'en jellee' is off-putting be it eggs or rabbit, terrines etc. cold jelly looks tooo surgical.
