What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Can you sit it in a sink full of cold water - that will speed things up with the defrost :)

Tonight is the chicken noodle veg stir fry from last night as the bloke didn't get in till late and neither of us could be arsed with a proper dinner by that point. He had a couple of pitta breads with humous and I had a mini magnum
Before or after Ed's bday drinks? :D

More jerk chicken and rice and peas

What is the best way to reheat rice if you don't have a microwave?
Is there any point? I have loads and would rather not waste it

Well no, cos it's one of those that comes with a stuffing (apricot and something...can't remember) so the stuffing would get a bit soggy :D

Instead I'm going for the massively expensive option of leaving all the heating on while we're out  :D  and sticking it on the table in the kitchen, which is next to the radiator (which sort of defeats the object of my buying it half price in the first place, lol...but I WANT the fackin duck! ).

Its our anniversary, but we we're going away tomorrow we'll eat out next week, so tonight is the usual Friday night staple of wine and curry delivery.
it's our anniversary too  we both forgot  but we've managed to get a last minute reservation for a slightly wanky private dining, pop-up type place that happens to be doing a veggie menu tonight :D

quite looking forward to it. Then on the opening of a new Irish Bar for what we hope to be Real Guinness in PINT GLASSES :D

Gonna make a veggie saussie and bean stew tonight, and going to have WIIIINE  Fella's out playing a gig, so am gonna run through 3 upcoming sets for timings, whilst laying into the wine, then make that.

I made biscuits last night! And they were fucking awesome. Never done biccies before. Made these http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9837/gooey-chocolate-cherry-cookies but didn't have muscovado so used demerara, hate white chocolate so used all dark choccy, didn't have unsalted butter so used salted, and didn't have cherries but DID have cranberries.

Cos I've never made them before I wasn't prepared for how much they'd sink and spread on the baking tray so ended up with one big fuckoff biccy which I had to cut up :D

Oh my lord though - fucking soooooo lush

I'm now on a biscuit-making mission. I have some dried apricots which I reckon would go really well with dark choccy. And was thinking of maybe orangey ones too

A kind of lamb moussaka without the potatoes, with broccoli and chips!
Creme eggs, booze and matt emulsion for pudding.

In a bag in the water you numpty :D

DOH! :D

Anyway...just got back and it's still not thawed  so I'm going to go for option number 3 and have beer and crisps tonight instead :D have the roast tomorrow and the soup on Sunday....and my son can just have the noodle soup with veg and no meat, which will delight him no end hehehe! :p

Made a curry with cannabutter instead of ghee :D

Make sure I label that clearly when I put it in the left overs in the freezer.

PHWOAR!!!!!!!!!

I fucking LOVE chicken wings  cheap as fuck, shit loads of surface area to take up flavourings, tasty as anything (even just *as they are*) and virtually impossible to over cook...alright, maybe not quite :D but you can get the skin properly crispy while the meat's still lovely and tender.

The rest of it sounds pretty fucking ace an' all (not looking forwards to my crisps quite so much now :( )! :D

:) I picked them up as an afterthought in the supermarket.... I only wanted the lamb mince but ended up doing a finger food buffet.

but yeah, dead cheap, they were massive wings too so plenty of meat and the spicing was nice.
