What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Might do a bolognaise tonight. Bolognaise always makes my tummy smile.

Bolognaise didn't happen... too knackered and had a much needed nap. The boy came from work and made pasta pesto with added mushrooms and pancetta topped with a.liberal sprinkling of cheese and black pepper. Just what I needed.

Apparently macaroni cheese letovers are not to be eaten with baked spuds, so we had beans and cheese in the traditional manner. Tonight will be leftover macaroni cheese with wild boar and red wine sossidges (Lindas for the littlun) and broccoli.

I made toad in the hole absent mindedly while on the phone. It was one of the nicest things I've cooked in ages. Had broccoli and gravy with it.

Pancake day always makes me think of toad in the hole.

I've got a load of really good onion/mushroom gravy left over. I want to make a big toad in the hole to have with it now, but I've still got loads of pie left over from yesterday. :hmm:

Freezer-foraged quorn chicken stew - needs to be quick as off out twatting about in front of a microphone and (hopefully) lots of people later!

Just found out I have to work late. This will work in my advantage though as I will pop into the Chinese on the way home for a portion of roast duck and pork belly. Because I'll obviously be too tired to cook. Won't I? :D

Yesterday was a chinese style soup made with some of the pork left from Saturday, thinly sliced and dropped into the stock that the pork was roasted over, with pak choi, sugar snaps and broccoli (and noodles, too, for the kids).....I also had shit loads of wine  so today is an easy option :D ...pizza for the kids and beans on toast for me...zzzzzzzzzzzz (realised today that I've had soup for the last FIVE MEALS  so beans on toast isn't sounding that exciting...but they need to be used, so that's what I'm having!)...and I brought home some chocolate mousses from work for the kids for pudding.

The waitrose recipe of mushroom and pearl barley risotto... With a little Parmesan and rocket leaves.
We have lots of odds and ends of chocolate cakes left for pudding too :)
ooooh, I fancy the sound of a mushroom and barley risotto - think I might have that tonight

Crusty- do it: It was lush! I had to use chestnut/ white and porcini mushrooms (not shiitake as per the recipe) but it was delicious. Are you veggie? I don't think it would be any the poorer for omitting the bacon.

Tonight we are having chicken and red pepper tikka which has been watered down by the tears of a grumpy baby :( served with rice, mini naan and mango chutney

I made a similar one - omitting bacon - and i added some dried chanterelles as i had some kicking around. It was well nice! thanks for the suggestion foamy & for the power of the tea thread :D

hope the baby is less grumpy now too :(

I had a big bowl of three bean chilli with cheese and a baguette from the bakers (which was still hot when I bought it).

The boy won't be home til late so it's going to be pasta, red pesto, wilted "the veg that shall not be named", black pepper and a fuck tonne of cheese :)
