What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Yup - homemade, it's a Sainsbury's recipe. Delicious and it freezes well. Also it's low fat/low cal so quite often I make the quantity below and split it between 2 meals for the 2 of us iyswim

Thanks for that. It's a really similar recipe to the one I usually do, but with the addition of coconut milk and fish sauce.
I'll give it a go next time

I've got another portion of last night's shit hot moussaka to use up, but I think I'll save that for tomorrow for when I finish my evening class. Therefore I think it'll be a weird use up what's in the fridge tea of chicken kiev, corn on the cob, coleslaw and salad.

Looks alright to me. Golden for white bread, a little bit darker for wholemeal/brown. It's the getting the butter (no margarine nonsense, or whatever it's called these days) on there before it starts to cool which is important. We might have done this several time before though :)
it's too light. i like my toast crispy. i prefer it burnt a bit and scraped for baked beans on toast.

I like my toast as if it's been scared by a candle rather than toasted

tonight it's fishcakes with lots of veg thats in the fridge and needs eating up - and I shall have it once i've finished this bag of crisps

Free for all.

I reckon baked beans + cheese on toast was completely ruined by including baked beans at all.

We had co-op pizza and garlic flatbread. It was ok but I don't really like pesto on pizza.

I also filled myself up with crisps...

Beans before cheese on toast is an abomination.

Toad in the hole with roast spuds and root veg and gravy - absolute triumph, best one yet.

Lentils with onion, SeeWoo stock, tuna, red pepper and served with hard boiled eggs last night.

It was really simple to make and surprisingly delicious :)

remix was apple and tomato chutney instead of the traditional sour cream and sugar :)

I can ask for the pancake recipe if you want
yes please. :)

Last night I had pizza (with chicken, ham, oregano and PINEAPPLE). Tonight there's a barbecue plan. /holiday

Last night's pork and corn was lush - ta nipsla. I bought the coleslaw though and it was crap so didn't eat it, that'll teach me!

Tonight, suprise tea when I get home from college :D

I made a quiche yesterday to reheat today after I'd picked my daughter up from her friend's house..... 3/4 salmon/broccoli/feta for me and the boy and 1/4 broccoli/feta for the small girl....as it turns out, she was up all night hacking and coughing away, so I've given her the day off, although as it turns out, I think I'm more knackered than she is....not helped by the new lot of the students over the back deciding to have a mid week drink up in the garden....the voice of the same fucking girl woke me up FOUR SEPARATE TIMES....and that was with the windows shut  ....I nearly did a crabby old woman job and opened the window to shout 'Would you STFU! ' by the last time, but you're only young once tbf, so I let it go this time (plus I couldn't be arsed to get out of bed).... :D

But so anyway, QUICHE! Will do a bit of salad to go with it but all in all, a nice easy dinner.....and there should (in theory :hmm: ) be a bit left over for my lunch tomorrow, too
Melon for pudding.

Spag bol tonight, with lamb mince. May celebrate the rare presence of the better half with some of that Cabernet Merlot they have in the local shop. I actually drifted off to sleep last night thinking of frying onions. I think I miss cooking.

It was going to be an M&S dine in for a tenner deal, but they're not doing it this week :(
So instead it will be some kind of ill advised combination of foods from the freezer.

Roasted vegetable curry, rice and poppadoms.

Jamie Oliver recipe from and old Sainsbury's magazine I have at home. Made it yesterday and it tasted very citrusy (zext and juice from a lemon and a lime was included) so I'll see how it is after letting the flavours mingle.

fancy pants tagliatelle bolognese

Forgot I'm using fresh tagliatelle. I should have said tag bol. Similarly fancy pants.

Do you add milk, OU? My recipe book commands it, but I'm buggered if I know what it does. And how does the forum stand on basil in bolognese sauce?
