What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I've had one bacon sandwich all day, kids had the last of the freezer, no food untill 12am saturday. Yes we go shopping 12am when the money goes in cos we usually have to fast on fridays,

I shit you not.

I inexplicably found myself in Old El Paso for tea. Made enchiladas with peppers, courgettes, asparagus, mushrooms and smoked cheese, it was surprisingly good

I've got a big thick slab of ham I need to use, so will prob do a carbonara for the kids (although my daughter's going to a friends after school and will prob eat loads and loads of CAKE and not want much else :D ) but I don't fancy that. :hmm:
I might just have a big plate of veg and some ham and mustard. :-/

We are on penne arrabiata toneet - with homegrown chillis
Every time I make this now, it's spot fucking ON. Started using an actual Italian recipe for it, and the little additions of tomato puree and basil, plus extra tomatoes, reallllly make it

On me own for tea tonight, and am thinking of cobbling something together with some leftover chorizo int fridge, cannellini beans, more tomatoes, and pasta. So a chorizo and bean stew then!

What else you using your chillies for soj? I picked these this morning, because there are a whole load of new ones growing :)...

I took something out of the freezer this morning which may or may not be sausage and bean caserole.
Whatever it was there wasn't much of it so I took a couple of spicy beanburgers out to defrost too.
So tea tonight will be a combination of the above with the addition of some ciabatta rolls and salad.

Mrs R will be doing haddock in a peppery tomato sauce and colcannon.

We had a very similar dish on Tuesday, also from the Jewish cookbook, of peppery garlicky sauce fish and it was out of this world, so we're going to go through loads of the fish dishes in it. I never ate much fish before going veggie so am clueless about cooking it, but these Middle Eastern spiced and Eastern European recipes are right up my street.
