doo-woop-de-doo
the boy made lentil and carrot soup with garlic croutons
Tried the 'national dish' - cod and chips.
Big sweaty fish finger is what it should be called. Bored of it by 1/4 of the way through, soldiered on and I now I feel like I've ingested a deep fat fryer.
tonight... bubbly and nibbles
Poor you. We managed to get rid of ours but it's given me a lifelong horror - have to check rice etc every single time I use it now.gah, lacking inspiration. the new infestation of food moths has put paid to anything rice based for a while eeeuw.
Minted peas are an abomination and should be fucking bannedAs Biddly says, should be a nice crispy batter. Is lovely when done properly and served with chunky chips, minted peas and ketchup
^ this, whoever came up with it? FFS leave the peas alone!Minted peas are an abomination and should be fucking banned
I got pie and mash from Pieminster at a festie this summer, and the only peas they had were minted mushy peas.^ this, whoever came up with it? FFS leave the peas alone!
See? SEE??? It's wrong isn't it?I've only just heard of minted peas.
Who the fuck has mint flavoured mushy peas with a fish supper?
Sweaty? The batter should be crispy

Look in the supermarkets, most of the tins are minted mushy peas... peas and mint = wrong.

don't!I want to try these minty peas now. I love peas.
I don't really like Olley's or the Sea Cow (sea cow does nice fish, but their chips aren't right, and Olley's is way overpriced). Pub fish and chips can sometimes be a winner thoughYeah, it looked crispy in the shop but then it got wrapped and bagged so by the time I got home the steam had turned everything soggy. Next time I'll go to Olleys or the Cow in Dull-witch and eat one fresh.
Probably won't go for cod though, not very fish stock friendly is it? Not very clued up about that, what should we be eating to not deplete stocks? Haddock?
You bloody bunch of philistines. I bet if this was the dark ages you'd all have me burnt at the stake?

Tbh, no fish is great, but I have it in my head that cod is the worst, so tend to go for haddock or hake - hake is lovely
but not with fish and chips. lamb, yeah. You bloody bunch of philistines. I bet if this was the dark ages you'd all have me burnt at the stake?
Mint, peas, butter...YUM.
