What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Birthday dinner of artisanal veggie burger with chips.

This wasn't quite what I'd planned. The restaurant I really wanted isn't on Deliveroo so I rang them to order and went to collect. When I got there it wasn't quite ready and the restaurant was full of coughing children so I told them I'd wait outside. Ten minutes later there was clearly a bag sitting on the counter so I went in and enquired if my order was ready. They said they'd find out so I went outside again. Another ten minutes later I went back in and asked again and after some confusion they pointed to the bag that had now been sitting there for 20 minutes plus. At this point I asked for a refund since it was blatantly going to be stone cold. They agreed in theory but actually dashed off to do something else, leaving me with the coughing children. So I left and went to the artisanal burger van instead.

I'll have to wrangle over the refund tomorrow I guess

Anyway it was a great burger and chips.

Small one had mini lamb and tomato balls with a passata and herb sauce on spaghetti. Himself had lamb balls with the coriander paste, cumin, with veggie bulgar wheat, flat breads, a yellow carrot pickled salad, Lettuce and a tahini, yogurt, turmeric dressing. I felt a bit yuck so swerved the fatty lamb option for a cuppa and a biccie. I am eyeing some more of the Crusty bread and maybe breaking open some of the Christmas cheese.

Got a bit behind posting details of my tea!

On Thursday we had burgers and chips - beef for me and southern style quorn for OH - with sliced tomato, gherkins, mayonnaise, cheese, mustard, ketchup, fried onions.

On Friday I had a beef and cucumber sarnie. Not sure what OH had, he would have eaten something either side of his shift though

Last night I did something really filthy and constructed a chicken kiev burger - we had burger buns that needed using and it seemed like a good idea. It was actually really nice but a bit of a nightmare to eat what with all the hot garlic butter. Also in the bun was mayonnaise and sliced tomato, and I melted some cheese on top of the kiev during its last few minutes in the oven. Had some chips too.

I'm trying to make brown stew, will be the first time for me making it. Rice and peas on the side.

Sadly couldn't get any scotch bonnet's so it's just going to have to be regular chilli flakes.
