What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Where's sheo? Not seen her around on tea thread for a while.

Anyway, we're swimming tonight, sheothebudworths , and we're NOT having a takeaway :p

Too fucking skint, so I'm doing spaghetti in a tomato and chilli sauce, with fucktons of black olives, and grated extra mature Somerset cheddar over the top. And a salad.

Out-of-date Mars bars, that I had to remove from the works vending machine, for afters :thumbs:

My favourite lemon/kale/tomato pasta, but made with a much better quality spaghetti than usual. I'm really starting to appreciate how much nicer the posher brands are.
Strawberry cornetto.

I've just discovered the joy of expensive olive oil. I had thought that extra virgin was the greatest.

When will this misery end? :(

Is this the right thread?

It makes quite a difference doesn't it.

I use a lovely Sicilian EV one that I buy in Marks. Tenner a bottle but has a glorious grassy green flavour, and is perfect with my staple chopped tomatoes and veg.

Anyway, fishy pea noodles tonight, as I've got some mackerel that needs using today. Wine first though.

I totally fucked up last night/ today, so i have no idea, not got owt in i can have quick that isn't a tin of soup

I definitely need more than soup :hmm:

Two burgers for me tonight with salad (no bun).

I thought I might be able to eat them very rare as they're pretty posh burgers, but they were pretty raw, tbh.

I looked it up halfway through and eating even posh restaurant quality burgers rare is avised against.

Considered making a "will I die thread" but I think I already know the answer.

Nice knowing ya, urbz :(

Chili con carne from Cook with some white rice, a baked potato with butter, salt and pepper, and grated cheddar

Was bloody lovely and piece of piss to rustle up too. Becoming an "if in doubt / when all else fails" kind of go-to failsafe dinner

"9/10 will definitely eat again. Recommended."

Sister coming round for tea and we're running a long way tomorrow, so can eat loads.

Doing chicken tikka massala, defrosting a chickpea and spinnich thing I made a while back, rice and new spuds with spices. Still cheating and buying my roti as honestly they are better then the ones I make.

Doing tandoori style lamb. Got nervous now as just spent almost a tenner on spring lamb. Apparently its the equivalent of rump (forgot the name of the cut). Going to go easy on the spice in the marinade. Oven bake or grill and how long for? :hmm:
