What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Back from church and watching football so kept it simple....disgracefully so!!! :). Last nights leftover noodles, this morning's breakfast potatoes (fried with garlic and smoked paprika) and some rainbrow trout bunged int' oven with some parsley, lemon, seasalt, dilisk and black pepper. Lashings of butter to serve

Fam coming over for the GAA final, so cooking steak, mashed potatoes and halloumi and hummus for the veggie. They'll probably bring salad and French bread being French n all. Beer (although I won't be partaking).

Roast pork tenderloin (will roll it in plenty of S&P and some chopped herbs), roast potatoes, roast beetroot, slow braised fennel (the first of the home grown!), steamed carrots & broccoli.
Apple crumble & cream.
*rubs thighs* cor.

We had black bean and chorizo soup. Made the fiddly but best way, boiling the beans from dried and using the water as stock. Lots of lime juice. So fucking delicious I should write it an Ode.

Did you make? Recipe please!
Guess work on the fruit filling and the fruit to crumble ratio was a bit off  but fruit is good for you :D

140g oats
100g plain flour
100g butter
100g sugar
1tbsp golden syrup
Cinnamon

Mix oats, cinnamon and flour. Rub in the butter until it's crumbly. Add the sugar and rub again. Drizzle over the golden syrup and mix through with a knife. Top your fruit with the crumble mix and bake on gas mark 5 for 35-40 mins.

I used slightly less dry ingredients and shoved in some chopped pecans and almond flakes.

Saturday we parked the campervan at a massive caravan park. 70's dinner in the 'entertainment block' of rock hard pastry steak and kidney gristle pie, chips and beans. Everything had been cooked for about 8 hours and the kids disco up the other end was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talk.

Sunday had lunch at a carvery with the outlaws, a very passable roast chicken. Cheese and biscuits for tea.

I really want lasagne after reading the lasagne thread but I'm still so hungover from Saturday we're getting Chinese delivered.

I was drunk when I put chickpeas on to soak last night, so a shit load of chickpea and Spinnich curry it appears. Just as well it freezes. Just stuck the chicken into marinade so some approximation of tandoori. A dahl of some kind, not sure what yet, but not had green lentils in ages.

Not been home for a week. It's nice to have my kitchen back. :)

Still hungover on a MONDAY ringo ?! Wow. That is some going!

Not sure what I'm having yet. Fella's out so I might have that salmon in lemon and dill sauce that's in the freezer, with chips. Or maybe just chilli/garlic spaghetti with parmesan.

Made another fucking stunning blackberry and apple crumble yesterday so more of that, with cream.

Leftover beef casserole with gravy and mash...there isnt tonnes of it so will have toast with it, got some really nice bread with chia seeds....will serve with baked beans and roast a red pepper too.
