What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I defrosted the freezer yesterday* and on a whim decided to take out all of the leftover gigantic tiger prawns. Put the prawns in a tiny bit of yoghurt, lime juice/garlic/ginger/tandoori spice mix, made a stock from the shells/heads, fried the prawns later then stuck the stock in on a high heat until it thickened and added a bit of creamed coconut and we had it with turmeric basmati with sweetcorn/peas/grated carrot....OMFG <3 :D

Leftovers of the rice today with some pulled pork from the freezer pickings mixed in.

I'm back to work tomorrow after the summer holidays, which FLEW by  might need some chocolate before bed :hmm:

*then broke ANOTHER freezer drawer handle when I tried to pull it open again (to display my beautiful defrosted freezer to my friend   ) - I always forget this, does anyone else know what I'm on about? You have a freezer overflowing with ice but the drawers pull out fine, defrost it and turn it back on again and within an hour the drawers are glued shut to the newly frost free elements  I wouldn't be arsed if it was mine and not the landlords '£££$$$£££$$!!' :(

I feel your freezer door pain sheothebudworths . I pulled half of one of mine off the other day. Bastard

Anyway, we're having booooze tonight. Since me fella's seizures, we've been Very Good, and not drunk any booze at all for 4 days a week, and then not going completely overboard when we DO drink. We are currently the most healthy I think we've ever been :D

And then for tea - probably a massive tesco veggie supreme pizza, or perhaps mozzarella cheeseburgers and chips.

Not had tea the last three nights so reckon tonights the night.

Maybe something involving chicken :hmm:

Massive baked potatoes, cheese on hers, salad cream on mine. Haddock fillets parcel-baked with cherry tomatoes, lemon juice and olive oil. Disappointing corn on the cob (doesn't deserve to be called sweet).

Last night was tikka paneer & salad. Cost a bargain £2.50. Had it with pompadoms, raita, spiced onions & mango chutney.

Not sure tonight but will prob eat at pub which is usually veg chilli half rice half chips.

How was your lasagne Biddlybee, what layering combo did you go with in the end?
I bought some beef & pork mince to make a ragu with tomorrow, with a view to making a lasagne at some point this week.

Tonight it'll be sausage, mash, veg & gravy.

I thought I'd updated the lasagne thread :hmm: can't find it though, I did post somewhere, but no idea where

Anyway, I did, from the top down (cross section)...

Grated cheese
Cheese sauce
Pasta
Ragu

The ragu was cold, made a couple days before, so the white sauce sat on top of it nicely

Dried pasta, I've only ever used that tbh.

The cheese sauce was a bit too cheesy, I'll do bechamel next time

That looks so fit. Want. I didn't manage to eat a lasagne on holiday *cries*. There's still time though I might be able to find airport lasagne.
